Dyno Numbers!!!

I went and had my car dyno'd today. The temperature outside was 77.42F. I put down 238.63 HP and 218.00 Tq. I guess these are some descent numbers. I was hoping to atleast hit 240HP but 238 is close enough I guess. This was done on a dynojet also. Let me know what you guys think. Here are some pics. Sorry for the shitty quality though I dont have a scanner.

What were you're stock numbers??? 3 or 4th gear????

they are dissappointing. S2 with 2.8 in theory should put you closer to 250-260 hp. If thats what I dyno I will not be happy!

Ya they did seem kind of low. He said the stock srt-4's dyno 200 on this dyno. We pulled up some of there pulls and my cobalt beat out the 3 srt-4's that were on there. I dont know what srt-4 dyno stock though.

Could the temperature outside affect the numbers? I never did a stock pull because I had the stage 2 installed 2 weeks after I got the car.

bro dyno's are not the end all to say all. Basically they are numbers that you are supposed to use for baselining. Run it down the track that will tell you what is up.

yeah there had to be something wrong there, if the guy said that srt4s dyno 200 stock you should be around 255whp, in acuallity (prob spelled wrong). Just a round estimate

You are fine if you are outdoing srt-4s on that one that is just a poorly tuned dyno is all.

The guy was very impressed with my car though. It was the first Cobalt he had dynoed. He had a 9 second integra and a crx that he said ran constant high 10s low 11s all motor.

Dyno's are for tuning. All dyno's will give different numbers. On another you may put down 250HP. The track is the real measure of power. (and the ass-o-meter)

of course temperature affects power, A LOT! colder air is denser, more oxygen, bigger explosion, more power...

My car and supercharger were still warm also. But I will never know so it is what it is. I'll just take my 238 and be happy.

The lowest stock srt4 dyno i have ever seen is 223whp if they dynoed @ 200 than with this correction you should be in the 250-260 range I was talking about.

i wouldnt worry about the actual #'s. ur makin some real good power.

just think about it. srt-4s have a general dyno output of about 230whp give or take a few. if they are dynoing around 200whp on this particular dyno, and ur putting down 238whp in similar conditions with the same dyno calibration=u got urself some power. congrads on the #'s
