Ebay Intake
Well I figured I'd make a thread as a review for the fabled, (once $45), $60 ebay intake.
For all those skeptical people who always say "You get what you pay for", you're wrong in this situation.
I've had the K&N drop-in, the Injen SRI, Injen CAI, and now the ebay intake, and the ebay intake trumps them all by far IMO.
I will admit, I had to clean up some plastic bits and metal shavings from the inside of the intake when it arrived in the mail, but the minimal maintenance to get this intake running is worth the price and the power. I have loved it since I installed it.
Now for the downside. I had a check engine light, so I took the car to AutoZone today and had it code checked, I have a P0171 code, but I can live with it until next time I have inspections.
Overall, for the price and power gains, I give the ebay intake a 12 out of 10

i'm gonna be selling mine for cheap soon, ended up buying a 3" RAW intake, but for a basic 2.5" it worked well and made my car scream too, downside is the original rubber mount snapped in half the first day so i had to fab up a metal bracket for it to fit.
The downfall to the Ebay intake is the Filter. That thing comes so oily that it coats your MAF sensor and causes stumbling idles and MAF errors relating in Lean codes. But it sounds great, and if you just use a better filter instead you will be okay.
I might as well clean my MAF sensor anyway to see if it helps any.
I'll do that friday
I fabbed a bracket with free stuff.
So $10 = kickass intake
Acutally I think you may be right.
I was just sitting out in my car idling and it had a pretty sketchy idle. The MAF sensor may be dirty or have some oil on it, so Friday when I'm at my parents house, I'll bust out the MAF cleaner and clean the MAF
yeah that sounds right too got one in my car, I got a dryflow with it though....clean it and unplug your battery is my suggestion for about 30 mins...let all of the battery backup flash fuel trims erase and let your car learn the new ones based on your new intake...it'll give you a bit more power over a straight swap and startup not to mention be integrated into your car's "natural" tuning system a little better....

Personally, mine needs a hydroshield because I have no fender liner, which means the filter is basically just chilling there getting water from puddles and the tire on it
