Engine break in

How many miles do you guys think I need to run conventional oil for break in before switching back to synthetic?

I ran the Comp cams break in oil for 200 miles, dumped that, changed filter and used regular oil to 3000 total miles, then added in Mobil 1. I use the cars oil life calculator. When I pulled my old LNF apart at 130k the crank, bores and bearings were perfect

This ^ is good. ZZP recommends comp cams oil for 200 miles, but they don't specify anything after that.

I've been running Lucas break in oil additive (basically adding lots of zinc) for about 600 miles so far. I did first oil change at 200 miles and am about to hit 500 on second with additive. After this I probably don't need the zinc anymore? I will probably still used it on next change anyway. Not worried about the CAT. How many miles do you guys think I should put on this second oil change with zinc? I originally planned to change it at 500 but that might be overkill. Think if I ran conventional for about 1,500 miles I would be good to switch back to synthetic?

At this point yeah I'd do conventional for a few miles then go to normal intervals with synthetic. I'd pretty much only do the conventional to get all of the additive cleaned up, so I doubt you'd need or want all 1500 miles with it.
