Engine Cover

ok im really sorry to ask the question and im sure its been asked a million times, but im gonna ask it anyway...

Is it ok to take the engine cover off?
Will it void the warranty if I take it off?

I wanna take it off my dads trying to tell me that its on for a reason and im gonna void the warrarnty if i take it off and stuff.

I don't really care what my parents say, its just my dad is a car guy and if something goes wrong he will blame it on that and not help me or anything..yea idk.

thanx.

I think it's cosmetic only. I can't see how it would protect the engine more than the hood would. Might be used to dampen sound a bit too.

you can take it off... it's there to reduce engine noise, nothing else... it won't void the warranty whatsoever... if anything, the engine will run cooler...
