Exhaust electric cutout
Exhaust electric cutout
can someone please explain how these work? how difficult installation is and if its worth it or not? I don't understand how these give power gains either
It works by welding the cut out into your exhaust before the cat, wire the switch in the car, and then when you flip the switch it will close off your exhaust system and let the exhaust out sooner without having to travel through your cat and the rest of your exhasust system
Power gain comes from letting the exhaust out sooner with out restriction

Put the switch where ever your comfortable, and wiring it shouldnt be more than 3 or 4 wires (Someone that knows exactly can correct me)
You can put them anywhere it will fit in the exhaust. Power gains (I suspect) would be a little more than an aftermarket exhaust system, shouldnt cost more than 30bucks to have muffler bros weld it in

Yep with a cut out you dont need an aftermarket exhaust, you have the power of the aftermarket at a switch, so when you want that power, flip the switch, its a lot cheaper than buying an aftermarket catback
**** yes!!! are these pretty cheap?
id be like dad i jus want it for drag and autox then go down 5th ave, whahahhhhhhhhh powww

this is what I have...and some other peeps too!
http://quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/
Check out the diagram for more info to your ?'s....
Sizes range from 2.25", 2.5", 3", 3.5" and 4"
idk which kit lol modernperformance has one for 185 for the ss sc... i was thinkin headers and dp would go good with this,,, make the stock exhaust sound a lil better and really open up the cut out.. or is that to much air flow
Nope i was gna tell you if you mod your header or dp youll get an increase, dont know how much, but im sure it would help, you can gain a lot by just letting your car breathe easier
I dont think you would need one with just a cut out, if you pullyed down and got bigger injectors i would advise a tune
But a tune couldnt hurt, its just if you get a tune, you might as well pulley down and get bigger injectors, more worth it
