i ordered mine on oct 16, and i haven't heard anything about my car yet. it might not matter, because my dad has 2 mustangs, and is going to get rid of his mach 1. i might be getting that car instead of the cobalt ss.

i mean, im glad banshee is able to tell us that they are being built, and that some are being shipped
im glad to hear that some people have been getting release dates for their cars
but the thing that scares me the most is walking into my dealership and getting told they have no idea whats going on or even when they are being released
there is a lack of information from the dealerships
i guess now my question is:
how did you guys manage to order a cobalt so early in the game? how did you get prices and financing when i cant even get a release date for the car?
Not one dealership here in calgary has been able to even let me get prices for the car.. they are getting prices off the website like i am, but cant tell me anything about the car. They wont let me order one yet cause they cant guarantee when it will come in
Its frustrating and when a dealership cant answer my questions, im leaning to go elsewhere for my vehicle purchase. Im getting alot of information from here but without physical evidence its really hard to believe the information
Talk to Keeper51 in Ontario - his dealer says he can get him an SS in two weeks!
There is a lot of misinformation/conjecture/speculation on this and the other Cobalt sites. The proof will come with the pictures, probably mid-March is my guess for the first SS's in owner's hands.

The SS is now on constraint at the dealers, meaning they can't take new orders for them. A lot of guys like me ordered back in October when the free XM/sunroof deal was going on, and so our orders are starting to be accepted (albeit far too slowly).
I agree though why is it that dealers have no clue what is going on?

Dont think everything you read is true. things that are true is that SS/sc are being made 10 a week for the 1st 3 weeks starting around feb 7, then increasing by 5 every two weeks, hope that helps, also it is true that cars have been made b4 this time but they are jsut tester cars sorry. So if anyone is trying to tell you that their car was built b4 the 7th they are full of it.
financing for this car is 5.9 for 32, 48 and 60 month terms. A lot of people on this site ordered their car last year around Sept Oct time to get the free sunroof and xm radio, people that normally follow GM and the new products that come out normally know when to order, thats how we ordered so soon.
You dont need to know the release date of a car to get financing and pricing for a car, financing has been at that rate since that last year for the SS along with pricing.
hope this answers many questions

i got my preorder changed to get the G85 package added... also changed from the blue to the silver outside to go with the black interior... my dealer said mine was the 1st one ordered, but not sure what he meant by that, as there r others in this thread that say they have build dates already... maybe mine is the 1st with the G85... build date is scheduled for 3/21... time to change the sig...
