fake selling in classifieds.....

so i buy an rk sport lip kit from a guy in the classifieds (wont say any names) for $550 via paypal and the next day, when he is supposed to be shipping the kit to me like he said he would, he sends me a message saying that he got into an accident that day and sends the money back to me. now im not complaining because i did get my money back, but i cant help feel that if i had already payed for the lip kit and he was supposed to ship it out the next day, then souldnt he have taken the kit off, maybe. how was he expecting to ship it to me that day if it was still on his car.....

Sounds like he was an honest guy. Just a bit inexperienced with selling things.

Why would he take your money and then give it back?

**** happens man, he was honest with you and paid you back. many people have just been stiffed their money so i wouldnt complain to loudly

I have parts on my car im selling right now, and heres why.

because people on this site are frivolent, and there are alot of "wannabe" modders who want something, but honestly cant really afford it.

and if im going to go through the hassle of tearing a part off my car, especially one thats not easy to get off, i want to know that its because its sold.
im sure in his case its the same, where if it doesnt sell, your going to keep it anyway. ill be damned if im pulling it off, just to put it back on again.

make sense?

Yeah, sounds like he was alright. Who expects to get in an accident? He just wanted to make sure he could sell it before he went through the hassle of taking it off. At least you got your money back.

Since this isn't the classified ad itself, I can sidebust!

$550!? Jesus man, just buy a brand new kit directly from RKS. They will sell it for that much. Its $600 list, and I know for a fact that if you mention you saw them on this site that they will knock the other $50 off. I got a replacment front lip only from them for $150, and its $200 list!

I agree with anomalous, people are always selling stuff that is still on their car for the reason's given above . Hell for all we know he could have been driving the car to a shop to have it uninstalled or he didn't have time to take the kit off before he had to go to work the next morning. WTF , why are you calling someone a "fake selling in classifieds" , when he was HONEST about having a problem , then sent you back every penny?

IF HE WAS A FAKE YOU WOULD BE OUT 550 BUCKS

he told me that he got hit while his car was parked and from what i understand the rk sport lip kit is urathane and is virtually impossible to break. plus if it was hit at 15 mph tops, right? explain that to me. maybe the paint got chipped a little? id be more than willing to fix this cause id rather fix a little spot than pay to have a whole new lip kit painted. i asked for some pics of the damage, but he refused. awesome, makes sense to me

Okay, ya know what, maybe he did lie. Maybe he had a change of heart and wants to keep his kit now. SO WHAT! You have been refunded. There is no issue here.

ok let me try to explain this. the kit cost as much as i payed him before shipping and it was already painted. thats $125 on shipping and at least $300 for the painting. thats $550 to $1000 just like that. i now can not afford it, yeah its a big deal. dont sell things on here if you dont intend to sell them
