find like two three hotels in the area like in the medium price ranges so that we're not in roach motels but not paying out the ass either so something like best western's or holiday inn express or even motel 6. ask them if we can get discounts for massive amounts of people or if they have like a convention rate or something for the weekend.
get the track for like saturday ALL DAY. so saturday the entire track is ours, auto x, drag strip, everything they offer we will have it.
then sunday someone who lives in that area scouts out a nice park maybe some place close and has a few people in the area to help them get the bbq together and we have a mini car show and photo op day. maybe even some event for the kids like one of those balloon houses they can jump in and throw the ***** at each other and a guy making balloon animals, if we can get enough people to show and pay maybe max 20 bucks per car for everything im sure we can make this a really nice event and maybe even donate the left over money to a nice charity in that city.
the prizes for the car show can be stuff like a detail package from meguires, a throphy, maybe a walmart gift certificate, something nice then make some tshirts. i have a guy who makes stuff for my car club i can get him to make bulk shirts at a cheap price might end up being like 5 bucks a shirt. i mean we need to make this thing nice and have MAX participation. this is for the love of our cars and GM (even tho they **** us off alot).

That is very similar to how Berettafest is put togeather. We had a poll to decide on places and dates. Made a website to register people and collect a fee (to pay for track, bbq, prizes ect.) Once the date and place was set we opened registeration...closed it 1-2 weeks before the Fest. We had someone in the area get a group deal on a Hotel for everyone to stay at. Usually it was 65-90 per night. Found a park to host the BBQ and car show. Rented the park area. Made posts on the forum for people to caravan or plan by areas to arrive. Once everyone was there we had a general meet up at the hotel for check in with a packet of maps or general info of the area with the plans for the weekend. Then the fun starts!

Just read through all of this and I am SO DOWN!!!!!!
Billig ss/sc (Marlton, NJ)
Hopefully we can really do this and keep everyone excited for it for over a year til it rolls around. This forum tends to forget about stuff and bail on meets rather quickly haha
20 hour (each way) road trip ftw!!!!!! haha

Can we please NOT complain about gas money when it's a year out and have thousands dumped into our Cobalts. :P
Anyways, I'm liking what I'm hearing... Topeka FTW and the locals need to coordinate 2-3 areas for gathering and photo ops.
This is a NATIONAL meet with roughly 12 months notice. If we cant get 500 cars.....then we need to put our Cobalt community in check!
Given 500 cars:
~Lets guess it costs $5000 to rent the whole track for a day(begging and bartering and kissing ass)
~Lets guess 500 T-shirts (one free for each pre-paid entry) costing $5 per(per ericgt79) = $2500
~Lets guess $750 in trophies and/or plaques
~Lets guess $1250 in food
~Lets guess $500 in banners and/or signs and/or advertising
(I'm a moderator on an LNF specific site and could almost guarantee some sort of free advertising on that site)
Thats GUESSING $10,000.
Thats $20 per car. That aint sh*t for this huge of an event!
I KNOW we could get Vince for Trifecta tuning and very likely coordinate a dyno at the show too!
(Can you say Highest WHP Competition) :P
Thoughts?
