GM has a 1200 cobalt that runs 6's or better if I recall, which uses the parts that are listed in the GM Ecotech handbook.
It has some parts for a 9sec. FWD 150+ car, but not others. It sounds like it needs a wheelie bar to judging by the link.

Actually, that car runs here in the St. Louis area at Gateway international raceway. One of gateways rules is that if a car traps faster than 150 mph it needs to have a parachute. That car trapped over 150 mph on its first run. So it does infact need a parachute. Or, it needs to find another track to run at.

Haha. Reading that post on that fast louis forum made me laugh. Running against what looks like a 68 Camaro and the slowbalt still has the window sticker in it. Hehe.

This car was built with the best of the best parts available on the market. How do I know? I am the driver of the car. So you can gaurantee that the car doesn't need a parachute? Well the 1st 2 passes the car ran 150 + 150.98. Don't hate on a car that you know nothing about. Expect much faster ETs and MPHs out of this car once we get it dialed in (an no, we do not need wheelie bars to run fast). stay tuned

Congrats on the pass! Don't mind the trolls, there seems to be alot on here. I'm local, I'd like to go to gateway the next time you do and see you run!

Does he have a car competing in this class, this year?

Oh well, like I said "I almost guarantee it doesn't need a chute(it barely did)". I wasn't trying to discount the car, it just seemed like it needed other parts to legally run that fast. Either way, BADASS car and welcome to the site and good luck this season, I know of at least one fast HB in the same class.

Nope, he is running in Pro FWD in a cobalt. It's all good, just seemed like you work coming across as an ass in your posts, discounting the manifold, etc. The car has all safety specs. The chute was at the track, just not installed because they didn't think it would run that fast already.

LOVE the car, great work!

Am I correct in assuming you kept the 2.2 block, just used the head from GMPP(ported lsj 2.0)?

One of my goals is to to have a track car like yours, simply beautiful! Keep up the good work, can't wait to see your progress!

The manifold does have a lot of 90* in it, that was all I was saying. So when is your first chance to drive it down the track? Are you expecting 8s?

The goal is to go rounds and win races, if 8s happen that would be great, if not, it will still be great. I will be in the car sometime this month (either NHRA VA or NOPI Ga at the latest)

You can't email it to yourself? If not, does your phone have Bluetooth? With Bluetooth you can buy a $20 USB Bluetooth adapter for your comp and transfer it that way.
