Fiberglass Work

So I am asking you, CobaltSS.net to help me find a project!!

im going to skip on saying thats way over done... but its very profesionally (sp?) done. it looks very even.. and no lumps in his fiberglass work. i think u should have him make u a double din maby for a deck? or a kick ass trunk set up.
The truck is tight. I got a buddy with something like that done....he's put over $50,000 in his S-10. He's got that same switchbox for his air ride. I don't like it, but the fiberglassing is kick ass. I'd definitely do a custom trunk setup, and maybe glass your dash. The sunburst would be sweet inside! My $.02. Later man.
he wont be doing the fiberglass work i will... and hes actually from around the cincinnati/kings island area and its never driven except to shows... i am going to work on a custom trunk setup that will somewhat represent a volcano shape from my spare tire well to a 13" JL w7 and will house a jl 1000.1.

wow u better use dynamat..
i dont think thats overdone at all. thats what makes it unique. thats the kind of stuff people need to do to make their cars "theirs". i think that truck is sweet. fiberglass is nice becuse there's no limits on what you can do with it. there isnt much i can say except start with each section of your cobalt and build off of whats there already. use you imagination and make it come to life.

Since you know how to do fiberglassing would you mind explaining how its done. Maybe even a how-to if you have time.
very simple. Go to Home Depot. Buy the MAT of fiberglass which is new instead of the sheet where its in strands. the mat looks like carbon fiber in white. but buy that and a Fiberglass Resin kit with hardener. Buy a few cheap paint brushes. lay the fiberglass over what your doing. pour about 1 tablespoon of resin (you can do a good bit more but dont over do yourself with experimenting because it dries in about 30 seconds and get real gulpy then its useless. but put 7 drops of hardener per tablespoon. i use more than that because hardener is only $3.00 so i make sure i put enough. apply it with a brusha nd let it sit until hardens and then its time for the next layer. thats just a quick how to though
i have a few projects going myself. iver been fiberglassing all day as a matter of fact

I'm currently working on a fiberglass project right now. First attempt at it as well, and I think it's coming out really good. I just need to get something else first, and then when I'm done I'll post what I did!

Thanks for the little how-to. So after you get done sanding the fiberglass is it smooth enough to paint or do you have to put something else over that?
