First speeding ticket ever....

i guess when u get a speeding ticket for your first time you gotta make it somewhat good...

so i got clocked 967feet away from a sheriff hiding behind a pillar from a bridge while standing outside of his SUV. clocked going 87mph in a 50mph zone. he first asked if i have ever been arrested before for reckless driving, i said no im actually in the police academy and i graduate in december. he says wait here and comes back with a whopping $350 ticket along with 6points off my license. lets hope my friends ex gf's parents take care of this since their both sheriffs as well... as much as i like cops, i dont. DAMNIT ALL!

Holy crap, 6 points???!?

Thats automatic suspension in MD.

That sucks.

Maybe your next mod should be a radar detector?

i had one, but there was no way even a escort radar dectector could pick up that. it was coming at me laser. laser is ******* hard to pick up. when i was about a 400 feet away from him..then my radar dectector went off. o well.

6 points is a suspension...damn that sucks *****, its nothing for here.

Anything 30mph over the speed limit here in AZ is a Criminal Violatiol, not Civil. I say you got it off easy.

It's actually 20 over...or anything over 85, although going 90 on the interstate will rarely get you a criminal ticket. I've had some friends get nailed hard for 20 over on the city streets, though...just wanted to make sure you knew in case you like to run down Southern at 70!

Well, you shouldn't have been speeding! I got pulled over (no ticket), and now if the speed limit is 45 then I drive 49. I don't speed what so ever, also my next door neighbor used to be a cop and said when he would pull them over and he saw they had a radar detector, they were getting a ticket no matter what. Finally, my friend said, if the ticket is $350 then send a check for $353, they have to sent a voucher thing back telling you they owe you money, don't sign it, don't send it back, just let it sit and collect dust. It will never go to insurance

He drives an LS COUPE. Its not even an SS 2.4L. This car was designed and built to be an economy car and not a sports car. So therefore, he wasnt driving it like it was meant to be driven.

You just proved to me that common sense just isnt that common anymore.

hahaha i remember my first speeding ticket. was in greenburg (stingy prink-ass cops---as defined by other cops --so dont think im making it up) and coming home from ihop. had my license for 2 months and was driving my moms 2002 Maxima SE.. they hated letting me drive it bc it was pretty damn quick wit 255HP so i always took out the minivan but they were going to seaside n needed to pack.

ne ways... so were all going along and of course i have to be infront and i get clocked at 73 in a 30!!!!!!!! he literally brought me the laser gun and showed me the 73 damn did i get it!!!!! that is 40+mph over the speed limit and here in NY thats 11 points. also 11 points is when you lose your license, so i should have been cuffed right there and had the car towed... thankfully he marked me at a 68 so it was only 8 or 9 points and i wasnt getting arrested...

i had an ex-detective talk 2 the sergent, current cops,, everything n this cop wouldnt return calls. greenburg was so backed up my court date is more than a yr later. luckily we had a long time family friend talk to a cop in his precient 2 days before the court date, and because i hadnt gotten a single ticket since then, and we knew another cop, "even tho he doesnt do this" (he said all he does is write tickets and remembered me as the kid drag racing on central) i received a seatbelt ticket or somethin like that.... lets just say that was a close call

I am pretty sure this is a myth and will only prolong it hitting your driving record. I am pretty sure there are people on here who have tried it.

Speeding on the freeway in Milwaukee county is harder and harder. All of the sheriffs in southeast wisconsin sit outside there vehicles with the laser. I got busted a year ago doing 80 but the guy was a ***** too. Went to court and got it reduced to a spedometer violation. Good Luck though.

sorry to steal your post, but i have a really shitty speeding ticket story... i was driving from jersey down to south carolina... so on I95 somewhere in viginia, the speed goes from like 75 to 55 or something stupid like that (was a few years back, don't really remember) There was a state trooper sitting RIGHT NEXT TO the sign that said 55mph... so needless to say, i got pulled over for going 77 in a 55... now, in virginia, if you are going 20 mph over the speed limit, it's a mandatory court date... they tried getting me to drive down for a speeding ticket... i told them to send me the ticket, i would pay court costs and whatever else i would have to pay if i showed up... they were hardcore asses about it.. i finally told them, "If you want to send a trooper up to pick my ass up, and drive me back down for court, that's the only way i'm coming down. I live about 8 hours away without traffic." She then said something like, "Good point. I'll put the fine in the mail."

Hopefully they haul your ass off to jail. Most places that's going to be an automatic suspension at the least.

Makes alberta laws seem tame. Here it is 50km/h over before you get a suspension. Thats about 30mph.
