i see some memebers have cobalt ss/sc with g85 package and i'm confused on what that is? I have a 06 cobalt ss/sc and i was looking at my sticker and it says nothing about a g85 package...so can someone please clue me in to what that is??

 

it has recarro seats and a limited slip differential ... that's it. The seats are pretty much free since you simply pay for the lsd

 

The G85 or "performance package" consists of a limited slip diff ( LSD ) and the recaro seats. They are half cloth half leather ( i think leather ).

If your seats say SS on them and all leather, then you don't have it.

It's a $1500 option on the car, so it will show in your sticker if you have it.

It saddens me that no matter what dealer I go to, or even the GM Canada website, there is no reference to G85 ANYWHERE! I've even asked salesman about it, and they just look at me with a funny face, then after a moment of pause assure me that the cars have it! (MY ASS!!)

 

The seats say Recaro on them if it does.

The only confusing thing is you have to select Black on Black interior to get it to show up on the option list. You cannot order Red/Blue/Yellow inserts with G85 package.

 

Well, My dealer knows fully well it exists....

When I was having some issues with my car, the sales manager said "Well... maybe you should trade it in on another one"

I said.. "only if you can find me one with the G85 "..... he then replied that he had one the week before, and that they were only seeing 2 more coming at that time.

SO at least they KNEW about it.

Now, ask them about the Stage kits.... and that's a whole different story...lol

 

I was wondering the same thing. I was looking at my VIN# and notice it had P85 in it. So I thought maybe that was my package code, but if a G85 package is what you said then my 05 SS is one of those G85 cars.

Well, I just ate my words. I just verified my claims on the GM Canada website, the package is there, but it is listed as the "Recaro Performance Package" but doesnt' list anything about the LSD unless you actually click details on the package.

Still doesn't change my dumb dealers though
