general questions

these may be all previously posted idk im sorry if they were but i got some random quesitons i been wondering about...
1. is the stage 2/3 kits got the same hp upgrades on each year of the cobalts? example-05 ss/sc stage 3 same upgrade in hp as a stage 3 on a 07 ss/sc from factory?

2. is the factory hp the same on all 3 yrs of the ss/sc?

3. this aint a big deal but just curious, how many mpg do most of u average for city/highway combination?

4. and finally what do most of u pay for car insurance?....i know it all depends on driving record, age, sex, company and yr of car but i just wanna a general idea...example- 80$(random number)more a month than a non sc cobalt?

Way to represent all the jackasses on this board. Could have very easily responded with something like "if you do a search (and dig through roughly 20,000 posts on each search term) you might find the info you are looking for. No need to be a dick about it. Besides all of the freakin God's gifts to the Cobalt world here just LOVE to awe and amaze poor simpletons like the rest of us with their wealth of infinite knowledge.

1. Yes the upgrades should be the same for all the years.

2. yes the factory hp is the same for all model years. Only cosmetic changes between years (as far as I know)

3. 25 city - 40 hwy - 30 ish mixed (all rough numbers of course. I have intake and exhaust)

4. Im male, 23, clean record, I pay $200/month insurance

Hope that helps.

It is. I pay $168/month for my 2.4L G5 GT and that's with a 35% discount for having no accidents. I'm 23 by the way.

it's all good. He eventually got all of the info he needed anyway. I knew there was an insurance thread, not sure about all of that stage and HP stuff. I never have much luck with search features on a board this big.

...and for the record:

1 - Yes, they're pretty much the same
2 - Yes, but individual cars do vary a bit
3 - most average around 34 hwy, I only get 24-26 city, but I drive like a maniac.
4 - I am 40 with an impeccable driving record and a multi-car discount and I pay $480 every 6 months for full coverage on an 07 SS/SC.

MPG: I average around 30mpg with my automatic no matter how I drive (city or hwy).
Insurance: I pay about 90 a month for 2 cars. Full covg on Cobalt and liability for my Aspire (daily driver). 35, female with no accidents or tickets.

I get an average of 28.5 mpgs driving mostly back roads, not really city and definitely not highway. As far as the insurance goes, it is more expensive to have a boosted car vs a naturally aspirated car. It was for me anyway. I got quoted 96 bucks a month for a 05 GTO and 114 for my SC. We all know what car is faster but the powers that be dont really care.
