Ok well i went and got a new downpipe from GM because my old flex pipe cracked, and for 1 they said it was a direct replacement yet they had to cut about a foot of exhuast off because they said my catback exhuast(aftermarket) was too long??? i didnt get it since if its a direct replacement why didnt it fit the same.

either way i went to a new exhuast shop and i got 2.5 on the catback exhuast. But straight off the header/exhuast manifold its 3inch then it looks like a high flow cat?? it doesnt look like the stock. then after then it goes down to 2.5 right before the catback exhuast.

I have no ******* idea if its a GMPP or stock. They told me my old 1 was stock and i know the previous owner(first and original owner) he said he never put a new downpipe in it. So i have tons of questions lol. first why is it 3 inch of the header? whats stock specs for the original dp?Like whats it start and end at in inch wise. and why did they have to cut the exhaust if it was a direct replacement?

They couldnt answer a damn thing for me so dont say go ask them.

if they charged you to cut your catback...u just got ripped off. there is only one DP from GM for the LSJ and that is the stock one. it comes with a cat, obviously, and i believe is 2.25" end to end....possibly 2.5"
GMPP doesnt make a DP for any car i believe. Its illegal to replace your cats prematurely

How is it Fail or epic fail or even Phail?

I want to know the deal?

they didnt charge me anything it was free. they just had to cut my aftermarket exhuast because it wasnt a direct fit.

It starts for 3 inch then goes down to 2.5 before the aftermarket exhuast. If this isnt stock why did they give me it?

How about you grow a brain think logically. Oh wait that would be unreasonable.

First you can take a camera, preferably a digital camera, and open the hood and take a picture of the down pipe. Now this will only give us a limited view but it's a small step. Then jack up the car and take a picture of the down pipe from there.

See there ya go.

Be easy guys. I can understand all of your frustrations. If you want help on this forum it really does help taking pics of what is in question. Most of us guys can help you but we really need to see exactly what your talking about. We will be able to see if it looks like a stock cat or not. As for a downpipe, GM does not make a performance downpipe for any of the cobalt trims. So I'm not sure exactly what they did or why.
