Angry God I can be an idiot sometimes!

When will I learn to trust my instincts?! Ok, so I make a quick run to the Taco Bell cause I haven't eaten all day and I'm hungry as hell. Normally, I don't let any food or drink in my car, but the last time I ate was a couple of burgers for dinner last night, so I figure I'll make an exception, and a request for multiple bags. As I'm ordering, I order a drink out of habit. The second I said Pepsi, something in my head told me to cancel the drink, but I didn't. No sooner than 5 minutes after I have the food in the car, and the drink in the cup holder(which as you will find out in a few moments, is there for looks apparantly) I turn onto the road and look down. To my horror, the cup is no longer in the holder, but rather in the passenger floorboard along with it's contents.

Needless to say, the drive home was a quick one, followed by about thirty minutes of vaccuming and spraying the carpet with Resolve. Hopefully the soda won't jack up the carpet...Can anyone recommend anything else I should try?

Go rent a steam cleaner at your local store (if you don't have on already) and some solution. Go over it at least twice and let dry. The syrup used a fast food places is very sticky and will penetrate and harden. I gave in and bought one for carpets and use it several times a year to keep vehicle carpeting clean. Good luck.

Lesson learned - Scotch Guard is essential!!!!! I had the seats and carpet done in my old Cavalier and my cousin spilled lemonade on it, wiped right up, no sticky mess later.

NOOOOOOOO! That's what I said after dumping my morning coffee on my seat and d/s floor. No more drinks in my car anymore! I was able to clean it all up, TG.

I noticed that about the cupholders too. They're a bit too large for a standard-sized drink; I spent the entire drive home holding onto my Wendy's drink last week. Luckily I have an auto... That cup wanted to go over at almost every turn.

taaaaaaaaaaco belllllllll , yummy

Sorry to hear about the accident . FWIW - what side did you have the cup in . I say that because both a 20 oz and a 32 oz fit pretty snug in the smaller size driver side cup holder . The passengerside agreed though , is there for looks only , lol .

Best bet would be to get a 1 tbs. of white vineager w/ 1 Cup purified drinking water mist on and put a white towel over it weigh it down w/ laundry detergant bottle til dry soda should wick into the towel leaving no residue. Carpet dries from the bottom to the top, and products like Resolve and Turttel Wax shampoo leave a sticky residue behind causing soil to stick easier. Using the vineager mix will neutralize the PH of the Resolve and help lift the soil out. I've been cleaning carpet's for about 3 years now and have had a few run ins w/ soda on carpets. (note : don't use Resolve or Oxy-Clean type product's on home carpet's commercials show it works wonders but I can gurrantee that your stain will come back larger and you may bleach out your carpet)

"Tuff Stuff" works pretty good for stains on carpet and upholstery. I am not sure if it is very good on cola's though. It comes in a big spray can that you spray on and scrub off.

yeah i noticed that our cupholders suck too! They have that cut out in them so when ever you make a turn they just want to tip over. I also learned the hard way.

Ive never had a problem with mine...i really dont like that they are so close to the HVAC controls tho...it makes it kinda a bitch to change them when there is a pop in there.

My cup fell off into the rear floorboard behind the passenger seat from the rear cupholders. A medium coke all over the floor. I used the Blue Coral carpet cleaner to get the rest of the coke out after I sucked up the inital splash immediately with papertowels. I always keep a roll in the car along with some Sprayaway Window cleaner. Good luck getting it out though.
