you could get the 2.4 ss base for the same price and get better performance, if you want to sacrafice the auto tranny.

I'd offer the salesman $13,500 and not go any higher than $14k. Same deal you talked about, just a lower price. If they don't, mention something about a Honda or Nissan then walk away.

just my .02 cents

ive tried that with 14 and the guy laughed at me saying no way in hell bcuz my parents make so much that theres no reason for the car to b lowerd that much. but it dsnt make sense that car is still not even worth that so y cldnt he give me that for it. just out to make money. i cant wait for the uaw thing to end and cars b cheaper then they r now, and actually get a deal on them.

So this is a 2.2L cobalt? I wouldnt pay that much, no way! Take all those discounts you have coming to you, and apply them to an SS/SC, you will be 1000x happier with it!

He proable eith 1) had a big down payment or 2) had a trade in, or 3) bought it used. You cant get a brand new cobalt sc/ss for 14,500, without a big down payment or trade in. I got mine for 18500 and i thought that was pretty good. I also got GMS ricing and 2000 off for my trade in. So if i would have bought it straight up it would have been 21000
