Good deal or no?
Good deal or no?
Hello I currently have a 2005 Cobalt LS with 44,000 miles 5 speed. I have the opportunity to get a 2005 Cobalt SS/SC with 26,000 miles at a local dealership. They are giving me 9 thousand dollars on the trade in for my car and they want 16,000 total for car. So with that said its about 7500 total after licensing and such for me to pay.. it worth it you think? has the g85 package.
ok so im getting decent deal then... and around here dealers like to ream people with prices too so i wasnt too sure
oh just realized they giving me exactly what i paid for my car when i got it 9 months ago

Theres something called negative equity.
If you bought the car for say $15,000 (after TTL), then trade it in but they give you $9,000.
(this is assuming you still owe the full sticker on the vehicle)
Ok, New Car (After TTL): $16,000.
So now, your new car technically costs: $21,000 ($16,000(New Car) + $6,000(Old Car))
BTW, TTL + Tax Title License
