Good muffler

Hey everyone,

I need some opinions on what muffler I should get.

Currently my setup is as follows:

2.2L L61
M62 with 2.9" pulley
ZZP Mid-length header
ZZP 2.5" catted downpipe
SS/TC Catback.

It sounds fine at idle until about 3000, but anything above it sounds absolutely ricey as hell with a horrendous amount of rasp. I'm guessing it has to do with the fact the muffler was designed with the muffling effect of a turbo in mind. I happen to be lacking that turbo...

The piping is all good, I just need some opinions on a good muffler that flows good, but will get rid of most or all (preferably) of this rasp.

Thanks everyone.

Yeah, it's the full SS/TC exhaust.

With the full exhaust, it's extremely loud, which I don't mind...it's just that completely awful rasp. Sounds like a Honda.

Just something that kills a lot of the rasp...loud doesn't bug me...loud amplifies the rasp though.

Maybe I should just twincharge it now, haha.

Dip into the LSJ section of the forum. The T/C catback is fully 2.5" while the S/C one dips down at some points. Both are mandrel. I cannot remember off the top of my head if it chokes down to 2.25 into the SC muffler though.

There is lots of meth advice in that section also .

All right. ZZP has a 5" Magnaflow resonator (2.5" in/out) that is 20" long. I think I might pick that up, since I can return my cat (stock downpipe) for a credit.
