I hate to sound pessimistic man, but if a manager shoots you down, and the GM service care people shoot you down, its not looking good.

You see there just going to blame the pry bar marks on you and your friends, since they know that you were messing with it. You probably know more about cobalts than all there mechanics put together, but there going to say that since you arent a certified mechanic that you probably broke something while trying to fix it.

I really hope you beat this. I honestly do. But just know that there are many more fish in the sea. Including GTO's, EVO's, 300C, STI, Z28, 350Z, Mustang GTs, etc etc etc

I loved my cobalt to death, but I'll be danged if I'm going to put up with all the problems it had after only 26000miles.

Zone rep is as far as i could get finding any more info.

What you need to do is get intouch with the Dealerships Owner.

Usually some pompus ass with too much money and time on his hands.

But when you articualte like what you wrote and explain how; you, your family, friends, and everyone else you come in contact with is going to know your story and how you were treated. Things change, thats a severe impact on business and directly his pocket.

Theres nothing worse for business than a bad rap, and explain thats exactly what you're going to give. Don't even go in expecting anything, let him make the offer after you tell him what youre going to tell people about your experience.

Threats get you nowhere, other than pissed off and the other side as well.

P.S. the GM is just the owners lacky... unless he is the Owner.

I really gotta agree on this one here....
They will blame you for all the damage.
UNLESS you got it in writing on what they did and how they did it..
Good luck with everything tho...

I am glad I have a great relationship with my dealership, and haven't had any problems whatsoever with them.... Sorry about your misfortune!

I agree... get a lawyer...

I love my cobalt... but I hate GM. Sad truth, and I would be happy to see my cobalt go...

Just so everyone is on the same page. I am on a extended warranty at this point. Not on the standard. Wanted to clear that up.

I have not heard from anyone in regards to the zone manager nor have I had any communcation with the dealership today either. No one at the dealership cares anyways. I've already went to the top. Nothing good comes out of it. I have the dealership out of the picture now although they are the ones that I hope will ultimatley pay for this screw up.

Kind of. We ended up putting a new clutch master cylinder and replaced the plate that was broken that it houses into. I still have to bleed the clutch and the brakes some. They are acting funky because they have air in them. Otherwise I owe the work done on my car to my friends. They did everything they could to get this going.

If this ever happens to you, in regards to this plate. I would advise unless you REALLY know what your doing don't bother. It's a pain in the ass.

If you have a new number because this one doesn't reach anyone that would be much apperciated. Thanks

thats actually a good, idea anything that can take business away from them they will fix to clear their name, and they will most likely only do it in front of the cameras.

I usually do my own work... I used to take my car to a Chevy dealer.. Till they told me I needed a transmittion service on my 2.2 automatic... umm aren't they supposed to be servicefree? lol the tech looked at me dumbfounded and was like what do you mean? I asked him to point out my tranny dipstick.. which he couldnt find... anyways... If I actually needed work to my car I take it to the Cadillac dealership.... awesome service there!

Good luck man make sure that if you get in contact with someone really high up tell them my dealership tries to pull the same nonsensical **** with me and they need to get their facts straight because you are not the only story in here about dealership problems and the younger people are getting more and more educated so they need to stop the bs before it blows up in their face.
BY THE WAY Who the **** at GM service department uses a crow bar on the inside of your vehicle? What an idiot.

This unnerves me for the future of our cars,we tend to know more about our cars then these certified techs.I have gone in a few times, only to find a tech or two in the group has any understanding of what I'm talking about.
Bud of mine is a for master tech, and he is telling me GM techs are not very good anymore and are not well trained on todays ever changing cars.

I went through soe bs with them on my last car, about some crappy tech work,I left the car there, put a hold on the payments for a month, next thing I knew it was resolved(fixed by an outsoarse) cause the techs did not know there as from a hole in the ground

That sucks man. I had a problem with a dealership up in Ohio. I had taken it in for a problem with my gauges and my power steering. (They were cutting out intermittently). They said they fixed it but they didn't. It came back again. I got fed up and took it to another one. They were the most helpful people I have dealt with. The service manager told me exactly what was wrong, and the problem hasn't came back. I agree with everyone else and fight them about this.
