Everyone starts at ground zero with no credit right? We've all been there. I started out by financing a home stereo through an electronics store ($25 a month, stupid interest but at least it was a start) and a gas card. Then I got a couple retail store credit cards and before long banks were throwing VISA's at me. The sooner you start the better, so go cheer yourself up by financing yourself something nice. Maybe a big TV or something

 

listen dont sell your parts. If you really want something bad enough youll get it. And trust me you want this car bad. Dont give up man. Look wait your time, get a second job, save that money. Everysingle penny! Go out and try to grab a pre approval loan through any freakin bank you can find. Your biggest help will be how much you have to put down though.

 

I had the same problem as him trying to get both a credit card and the loan for the car. My dad went in with me in case he had to co-sign but when I haded over a certified cheque for $11,000 and change GMAC approved me w/o the co-signer by 10am the next day! They were also more than happy to give me one of their GM CCs with the limit I requested...funny that .

Hope you can work somethin' out in the near future...the whole credit system is one huge **** off. They want you to have a good rating but trying to start one (secure line is an option but I'm not tying up $5000 for a $5000 limit) is next to impossible.

Quick Update. Some how, now that all my friend and some other ppl have herd about my situation, i've been getting alot of help from all the awesome ppl i know.

So yesterday, some one in work who knows one of my friends,(i don't know this person at all tho, and didn't know they knew me) comes up to me telling me he can help me out. He knows how this stuff works and what they told me at crane is wrong, and he called one of his fam members at a dealership he knows, and he's like, tom (Thurs = today) go talk to this guy at the dealer, he'll help u get a car! thought he was just being nice. I just got a call 5 min ago, from the guy, its like his uncle and he told me to come intoday, and see what he can do. He's pretty sure I can get a car (SS S/C) with my trade in and an extra 2-3K down. Some ppl in the thread had said a bigger DP would help, and It just might. (getting 4K cor the cavi) + i opened a macy's card and just bought some socks for now. tryin to build some credit. So theres a tiny itsy bitsy light i see at the end of the tunnel. we'll see what happens when I get outta work and go there today. (FINGERS CROSSED)

Did you try with a credit union? Most will give a meth head a loan for lab. I have actually opened an account with $10 usd and got a loan for $1500 same day with bad credit. (18 and credit cards, lesson learned). When I got my **** straight, (made all the payments back and paid the loans off early) I have never had a problem with getting loans with out a down payment. But the down helps a lot toward your monthly payment. Check one out before you give up totally. It is almost like they play by a different set fo rules.

 

Ahh. I had no credit, and I got my first credit card when I was 18...only one I applied for, and I got accepted. Now .. when I was 19. I got my cobalt....still not enough credit for 23000 dollar loan..so my dad cosigned for me. But now...this should be helping my credit bunches...

But like everyone said.. DONT GIVE UP. If you really want a cobalt man... Than you will have one. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders....so use it wisely... !

ALBIE!!! I SHOULD BE IN TOM.... APRIL 29TH WITH A CO-SIGNER WITH AWESOME CREDIT. I'm alos very close to having 4K to put down. I went in there yesterday while u were doing a swap in Boston and me and joe had another sit down. I would like more then anything to buy from Crane if nothing more just cuz Mike was such a good guy to me, and Id like ya to get a sale. BUt as of 11:00am this morning, I'm 90% sure i have a Co-sign with great credit, and 4K to put down. We'll find out tom! SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CLOSE

p.s. if i can't get this car with the Co-sign and 4K down this week.... I'm just gunna buy this 02' Trans Am WS6. <-- this is on my list of tiop 5 Fav cars of all time, and only the SS S/c is above it right now that I have a chance to buy. I'll update later!
