So I have 845 miles exactly on my car. Just bought it 16 days ago. Yellow '06 SS/SC with G85 package. GONE!

Was about 1/4 mile from my housing complex when some ******* mexican without insurance flipped a u-turn right infront of me. He was parked for the Hot Import Nights car show (I live right by where they host it). I hit him head on doing 40-45 (dont remember). Me and my wife were safe (man, these cars kick ass inaccidents!!!) but the car is TOAST. I dropped all my radiatior fluid and smashed the car pretty damn good. I got pictures with a disposable, so Ill post when I get them developed.

The guy tried to ask me for my insurance. HAHAHHA I told him nope. Cops wrote him a ticket and thats that. Hopefully, my insurance will cover it all (I had uninsured/under-insured with loan/lease payoff) and Ill get a new cobalt. Im a little shaken up I must say, and my wife is freaking out, but no injuries, just a little soreness.

Good thing you had the uninsured motorist coverage. Damn that sucks man. I saw on the Gm web site that the 2007 models come with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty now. So try and get the 07.

one of the guys who drove a cobalt here in DE totaled. drunk guy in a truck tboned him doing about 60 and fliped the car twice. his wife broke her arm and he was alittle bumped up. but the car was gone. im very impressed with them. tho i dont ever want my to prove its self. you guys are lucky

 

Yeah, she was pretty shaken up. She had a few drinks in her (shes a light-weight, 100 lbs) so combine that with the stress of an accident and shes a total mess.

I dunno what to do. This is my first major accident since I started driving ( 9 years ago, im 25 now). I have no points and no accidents, I dont want this to hit my insurance as a negative for me Not only that, I want my ******* car replaced. My cobalt is totalled, I cant see how they cant total it. Im positive the frame is bent, not to mention everything crumped on the car. Ugh, I just wanna ******* cry im so sad. Call me a bitch, but I loved that car............................

 

If there is crumpled zones than the frame is probly beant. In the states is it not against the law to not have insurance,it is a punishable offence here that will cost ya jail time

 

im pretty sure the state will help you out. they might make him get insurance and then pay for it and then hell prolly lose his drivers id. but the sucky thing is it could be weeks before he gets a court date

 

Oh yeah, crumpled zones is an understatement. The front wheels were bent out, thats how bad it got smashed. Somone how, the rear quarter got smashed too, but I kinda blacked out when I got hit so I dunno. I just know airbags + seatbelt = save my life (and my wifes). I actually never wore a seatbelt till I got this car.

 

Ya we need some pics. Your insurance shouldnt go up becasue if you were not at fault I dont think they can raise your monthly payment.

 

Pics will take a couple days. Im working 7 days a week, as is my wife (10/9 hour days respectively) so Ill get the pics developed when I can. Ugh I have to be at work in 5 1/2 hours and I cant even fuckign sleeppppppppp. So ******* depressed.

 

i work at AIG auto Insurance, and Whether your at fault or not at fault there is also a chance for your premium to increase. we're evil , its what we do.!

I have loan/lease pay-off option from my insurance. Should be covered. Just got home, and leaving again. My wife started having severe pains overnight. Turns out she has a ******* hole in her intestine. Gotta have surgery

I was hit by a guy that actually rearended me & ran, I had to use my insurance to get repairs done ($1400) & at that time I was thinking if anyone totalled my car I'd try to buy it back for parts as I'm sure I'd get another balt so thats a thought for you cuz if they total it you might be able to buy it for $400 or $500 if you have the Cash

Damn straight Im pissed. Now, my wife is in the hospital. I dunno what the **** to do. She should be out of surgery shortly, then I have about 2 hours before I can go back. She should be fine though.
