Got my first ticket...Suggestions?

I unfortuneatly just got my first ticket. Are radar detectors good, and are they worth it. If anyone has any good ones to buy, let me know.

radar detectors r good, but it doesnt help when u get paced. i got paced from a 1/4 mile away doin 85 in a 70... but yea, radars r worth tha money, especially scramblers. i have the rocky mountain one, it was a couple hundred, but worth it, saved me a few times.

Yes, they are worth it. I don't have one anymore but they kept me out of trouble for about 2 yrs straight.

I got my first speeding ticket tonight also. The cop was nice and reduced it to the minium, so its only $40 and no demerit points.

On my ticket it says my car is an 07 Chev, when my car is clearly an 05, wonder if i can get off on a technicality?

radar dectors work, as long as you pay a decent chunk of change for them. I am going to be investing in a V1 I think. Not sure if its stil called that at this time but thats whatI remember it as. No defense against a laser trap. That ******* instant and unless you are jamming it there's not much you can do.

Considering your in Canada, where the legal system is retarded, especially with traffic violations, you probably would be able to get off on technicality like that.

07 is the year the plate expires, not the year of the car.

yes you could have picked option 3....to fight it, then on the court date, ask the provincial prosecutor to consider your driving record to have it reduced

I am sure they would have lowered it for you

here's another hint: go out and speed again and get another one so you get your second ticket out of the way now. LOL J/K you'll get more in the future, so just pay it and get over it. but yea, slow down, and if you are going to speed know your surroundings, and where the cops hide out at!!!

depends... 29mph hour and they are supopsed to throw you in jail.... 29kph isnt as bad but still. most times for something a good bit over the speed limit you dont get points off. and for them telling you to take it to court and get it thrown out you could also lose. the cop always shows up because he gets overtime for it. theyll tell you a friend of theirs had it happen to them but you know how stories like that go... didnt happen. and when you lose you pay court costs and your ticket and you get points.... just take DD or pay it.

How the hell did a cop pace you from a 1/4 mile? I really don't think that would hold up in court.

nod.. 29mph over and your complaining about points? lmao... 25+ over is considered wreckless driving.. you should be happy they didnt drag your ass to jail and slap you with a misdemeanor and suspend your license for a year.. i think that ******* cop helped you more then you realize

Damn I hate people that come on here looking for advice on what to do with a ticket they just got. Just man up and pay the damn fine and take the points if there are any. You were the one stupid enough to be breaking the law and get caught in the fiirst place and you come here looking for what's the best radar detector to get??? Slow the hell down and stop breaking the law. The laws are in place for a reason. Yours and everybody else's safety. If you can't stop breaking the law get off the damn road. I don't want to be the person that gets caught in an accident you caused by being stupid and breaking the law.

EDIT: by the way I think it's 30+ over the speed limit in PA you automatically get your license suspended...don't know for how long, but I'm sure PA and they're strict as hell laws have an adequate time period in place!

I'm angry because I have to work today when 99.9% of people on base have the damn day off. Damn launches for flybys.....
