Right now, I can't afford the switch unfortunately after recent events, but I plan on changing in a year or so.
I just want something with some get up and nice!
I was also considering WRX, and Evo, but I'm scared of Evo purchases.
Tommy was your car paid off or did you just take a hit. Right now I owe less than it's worth so that's good

to be honest everything on the car was on it when i got it except the zzp pcm but i only got that in hopes to rid myself of the 5psi issue which is why i got so frustrated, it has came back for the third time but everyone keeps saying these mods are bad but whats so bad about them? im honestly clueless because imo i thought greddy, synapse, and twm were great products but this is my first turbo'd car too so to say the least im disappointed and just want it to run right.....

the evo is a better car overall no doubt. better platform for power and definately faster in the 1/4. as for long stretches, i think plenty of war stories have confirmed that an evo is slower than an SS/TC on an open stretch so i fail to see how the SS/TC couldn't beat an EVO on a track like the ring. that being said the EVO may have an advantage coming out of corners so who knows. both are very capable cars and are able to beat each other with the right circumstances.. bang for the buck.. cobalt... nicer car? evo.. i'll try both stock on forza 4 when i get it and let yas know! LOL

@ OP - if you want to move on, that's your decision - and I wish you the best... but I hope this isn't a "grass is greener on the other side" deal ~ I can think of at least one person here who "upgraded" to an EVO, and has of late been seen posting lamentations of wanting his old SS back...
Conversely, I've seen, and understand some other people trade up their CSS/TC for a late model GTI (-60hp) ~ and be happy with their Golf...
I would just encourage you to be sure you're making the change for the right reasons.
But @ TommyP;
I'm not sure what class the Evo is in, but the CobaltSS/TC obliterated the prior record holder for the compact class ~ and iirc was only bested by a car which was thinly veiled as a 'production/street' car...
I'm not saying that the CSS/TC is hte king of cars by a long shot, but sometimes it's easy to stack a car that it's totally outclassed by...
GMTunerSource.com - 2009 Cobalt SS Gets Great Reviews From RiceBoyTV.com
Magazine: Car & Driver
Issue: November 2008
Article: Track Meat/Lightening Lap; pp46-64
Held at Virginia International Raceway - 4.2 mile round course.
LL1 = under $30,000
LL2 = $30,000-$60,000
Cobalt was only one of three cars in the 'LL1' class (they seem to not use the same cars year after year - and instead only invites cars which have changed from the year prior -it reads as though the SS/SC was invited for the 2006 running of the Lightening Lap);
THe cobalt not only eclipsed all the other LL1 cars - screw this I'll just type out the list up to the Cobalt;
Class - Car - lap time/mph
LL1 - Cobalt SS Turbocharged - 3:13.0/78.3
LL2 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evoltion MR - 3:13.3/78.2
LL2 - BMW 135i - 3:13.7/78.1
LL2 - Lexus IS F - 3:14.0/77.9
LL2 - Audi S5 - 3:14.6/77/7
LL2 - Honda S200 CR - 3:15.0/77.5
LL2 - Dodge Challenger SRT8 - 3:16.3/77.0
LL2 - Lotus Elise SC - 3:16.6/76.9
LL2 - Infinity G37 Sport - 3:17.5/76.6
LL2 - Subaru Impreza WRX STI - 3:19.0/76.0
LL1 - Dodge Caliber SRT4 - 3:20.8/75.3
LL2 - Volkswagen R32 - 3:21.8/74.9
LL2 - Honda Civic Mugen Si - 3:24.8/73.8
LL1 - Volvo C30 T5 Version 2.0 - 3:26.6/73.2

GMTunerSource.com - 2009 Cobalt SS Gets Great Reviews From RiceBoyTV.com
- 8:22. Eight minutes and twenty-two freakin' seconds. That number, friends, is the time it takes Chevrolet's new Cobalt SS to run one full lap of Germany's esteemed Nurburgring Nordschlieffe. That's seriously fast. The original Godzilla, the R32 Skyline GT-R, takes the same amount of time to run the 'Ring, as does the E46 M3. For further reference, that time is also six seconds faster than a 993 Porsche 911 and 16 seconds faster than a Honda NSX. As we said, the new Cobalt SS is seriously fast."
- "What's really impressive about this lap time is the fact that we're talking about a freakin' Cobalt here - a budget GM coupe. How can an economy car - a front wheel-drive one at that - be faster around the 'Ring than the esteemed sports cars mentioned above? The simple answer: the engineers at GM Performance Division are pretty damn good."
- "We've driven many front drive turbocharged cars on a racetrack, and we can say with certainty, that the Cobalt SS is among the best of the best."
- "We'll even go so far as to say that, if we needed to choose a front drive car to race competitively in, the Cobalt SS would be our first choice."

I keep seeing you guys talking about Evos with options and being slow and heavy and all these 2009/2010 comparisons, and not understanding any of it, then I remember that the X exists. As if that's really an Evo.
Pretty much every bar/club in my area could get shut down for that.
Apparently no one can spot a 17 yr old with a fake id smh.
