Dear Sir:
All our manuals are based on projected sales and as of this time
this vehicle does not meet our criteria but hopefully in the
future.
Thank you for your interest in Haynes Manuals.

well at least they responded. and the cobalt is only in its 2nd year production. we'll have to wait and see!

does the helm manual say anything about what taking out the radio affects? does it have the GMLAN information? also did you all order the helm manual from that site or can you buy it somewhere else. could i buy it at the dealership?

that little *** at haynes needs to come on to sites like this and see pissed off people like me who would like a manual. i think we could give them some sales...but i say boycott the ******** for the zero effort to accomodate.

I just e-mail Haynes about a timeline for the Cobalt repair manual and this is what they said:
"Dear Eric
Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding a Service and Repair Manual
for your vehicle. Unfortunately, we do not produce a Manual for this
particular model and have no plans to do so within the next 6 to 9
months.
However, all customer requests are recorded and used in the decision
making process of future Manual publications/updates.
You could try contacting your local dealer to see if he can be of
assistance.

So, it looks like our only option for now is the Helms manual. ($135 .00)

in that case everyone should meial them about are cars, lol
Neither Haynes nor Chilton even come close to what the factory service manuals provide (3 Volumes for the 2006 Cobalt). Yes, $135 is a lot of money, but in this case you really do get what you pay for.
As for the guy who says he has 2 Haynes manuals for his Honda -- my daughter has a Honda and I rebuilt the auto 4-spd in it. The Haynes books do not have the auto tranny rebuild in it at all. The factory Honda service manual does -- and that's what I ended up buying to do a better job. Same goes for all makes of cars -- match up any Haynes or Chiltons manual to a factory service manual and you'll see what you're missing. There is a lot more info and how-to pictures as well.

im not paying 135 for a fn manual. if you have a form of knowledge, its the same engine and tranny in the 05 cavaleirs so get a manual for that. otherwise, go to the how tos and ask questions. id rather put that 135 into a new mod.
