Question Headlights

I was just out driving my SS at night. I first have to say I love the dash lighting!

However, It seemed my headlights were pointed down towards the ground too much, there was no illumination above the road's horizon. It was very annoying and seemed very restrictive. Is this normal? I think I may just need to adjust them.

My mom's Mazda six seems like that too. I turn on the foglights to light up the road better. I'm not sure though, I haven't driven an SS yet.

I had the same problem with my Cav. I figured it had to do with the shape and angle of the reflectors on the Cav. As for the Mazda 6.... I love the lights on it. I live in the country and work in the city, and the lights are great for finding the deers. I only wish every manuf. would use the lenses that Mazda used on the 6. As for the Cobalt, try adjusting them up for more forward vizability. If this does not work, you probbily ave the same thing going on that I had with the Cav. If this is the case, them get a good pair of fog lights and keep the headlights angled up, but not too far up where your blinding people infront of you. Just a little hint when your too high with your headlights.... if your lights are shining into the car's rear view mirror infront of you from about 20 feet behind, then your too high.

Why is it too high? EVERYBODY else's vehicle seems to shine right into my rear view mirror at all distances behind me! :P

Update: I took it to the dealer today and they said it was up to spec. I guess that's how they come. My 97 Cav had crappy headlights but illuminated more of the road. I guess I just have to get used to this. I might also adjust them but for now I'll just bear with them.

The SS' fog lights do not help much either. They only seem to illuminate 10' in front of the car.

You can adjust the lights on your own. It's two screws for each assembly.

The standard headlights aren't supposed to light the horizon they are supposed to light just in front of you. If you changed them to point up more expect a lot of angry drivers because your headlights are pointed in their mirrors.

The driving lights are more for look IMO and not for functionality. Hell I don't think I have even driven in fog maybe 2 or 3 times in my life where I could really use fog lights. Besides fog lights are supposed to be yellow.
