I bought my projector headlights from CarID and took a huge chance on them because they seemed too good to be true for two new headlights at $170 but its been almost 10 months now and one harsh Ohio winter later and they still clean up like new every wash. I stopped by ZZP and picked up one of their H1 HID kits as well and installed it within 30 minutes and was ready to go. Yeah they are only the low beams but with HID's you rarely ever need anything else to be able to see well off into the distance! But thats just my .02 cents.

If i had the money for building my own retros i would have been all over it. There is no doubt the look and performance are 100% better. But as a college kid on a budget or anyone on a tight budget the Gen4 projectors are getting the job done at a fraction of the cost! Just wasn't sure how deep the OP's pockets were!

It comes down to what a few people already said. What are you willing to spend? I will say this though, retros are the best choice to go with. I got mine a week ago and love them. Mine were pricey to have made ($800), but definitely worth the unique custom look of them also and the light output is amazing.

With parts comes a price.
My personal set cost me 2500$ in parts alone. They aren't done since the car is at the ship. For performance. Nothing off the shelf products will compare. Retrofits on roids for short

I rock bass_waves retrofits on my car. freaking love em

rice makes some legit ones too.

Oh don't skimp out on lights... I know... I've been through like 5 sets --- stockers, black painted stockers, 2nd gen halos, retrofit 1, retrofit 2, and current retrofit lights.

PSS - don't buy from anything from mkulrey lol
