Question Headlights Turn Off?

I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else. I was letting a friend of mine drive the 'balt Saturday night (giving him some practice driving stick) and when he took a right hand turn, the headlights turned off. This happened several times, and I didn't figure it out until later when it happened to me.

I figured out that when the high beams were on and you signal to the right, the lights go off. It doesn't happen when you signal to the left, and it only happens if you click the blinker into position, not just tap it and hold it to signal several times.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope. I'm stock.

I've had the car for 2+ years and I just realized this. Of course, I don't use the highbeams often.

must be a feature not to blind people when doing a right turn, seems logical to me..

if you do a left turn you won't blind incoming traffic..

But do you "click" the control so that the blinker will blink without you holding it, or do you just press up on the stick until the blinker activates?

Does everyone else have to click it all the way before it happens?

Mine will shut off when you have the high beams on and you put on the turn signal. I can duplicate it if I have the highs on and wiggle the switch, or hit a big bump. no clue how to fix it though.

why would u be turning left/ right in the first place with high beams on?..at least in a location that u would need blinkers to go left or right any way

It seems reasonable if you are driving through the woods at night and have to take a right hand turn. The stock lights on the normal setting don't illuminate much when the road dips up and down and the corners are tight.

well im in the habit of using turn signals so sometimes I even use them when they aren't really needed unlike a lot of drivers I see that dont use them at all.

I use my blinkers to turn into a parking spot... I like letting people know which way I am going... But I have never noticed a light going out when I turn, but I will try it & see what happens, but I have projectors w/ HID's.....
