Unhappy Heartbreaker

Hey guys,

It's been MONTHS since I've been on. New job has me running like crazy with not a lot of spare extra time. But I figured I'd post here since I've had my heart broken; an now, Riceburner, AEP didn't dump me! :P

Coming back from the Aurora DMV last Saturday, mind you I just put brand new tires on the girl Friday afternoon, we hit a patch of snow/ice and ended up across the median in oncoming traffic. Thankfully I was able to get over to the should before the car died on me, but a Ford F150 towing about an 8' trailer full of road signs was coming head on at me. Thankfully he was able to swerve, but nailed me with his trailer. The damage is as follows:

Thankfully, everyone was alright. No injuries. And my insurance should cover all the repairs and a rental. I'm really hoping this is under $6500 in damage. So far from what I can tell, at the worst I'll need:

Front Bumper
FR headlight
FR Fender
FR Rim
Right Door

Looks like the axel/camshaft was bent pretty good. I'm hoping that's all the internal damage that I could see.

That's it for now. More details when I get them. I hope you all are doing well. Remember to drive safe!!

Thanks, doooood. I've been meaning to text you. Things are going great with the new job. I'm the new Technology Director for H&R Block's Chicago Region. So I oversee about 250 stores and 15 people; 7 direct reports. It's a great job, but we're in peak right now, which means we're slammed with clients. It's my job to keep all of these offices up and running and fix issues as quickly and efficiently as possible.

How about you? How's school going?

Nicely done! Once spring roles around and you're done with classes, we'll all have to get together again and hang. Grab lunch again or something. This time if Rice isn't too hung over he can join......wuss...

I hope not. When I looked up the private party value it said only around $8300. If they total it, i'm screwed. I only bought it 6 months ago or so.

Thanks guys. STILL waiting to get the estimates back on the damage and repair time. Hoping to pick up a rental today. I hope you guys are all doing well! Stay safe out in this crazy weather! I know we're not the only ones getting it here in Illinois.

They told me I would hear within 48 hours of submitting the claim, which was 48 hours ago. So I'm going to call in a few minutes and find out what's going on.

Lol. Right? Thank god it was the other side of the car. All of that and not one scratch on the hood. Couldn't believe it.

So, anyone got a pair of Gen 1 halos that are in great shape to get rid of? Otherwise, Going to have to buy a new pair. Just got off the phone with the body shop. Going to be at least a MONTH before they even get it in to work on it
