I'm not gonna lie to ya here.. lol But Heated Seats are glorious things! Especially in Northeast Ohio! But I'm not really sure what GM is planning on. Now that i think about it.. the only time I'll get to like 'drive' drive mine is in the summer But it seemed that a while ago, all signs pointed to yes in terms of heated seats.. but now it's looking like there are some discrepencies for an official word.

LT sedans DO have heated seats and i think SS's will too, all the interior pics of the SS r preproduction cars, most show the black gauges too...

When you ordered your SS/SC did the seat option show heat as an option?

when i ordered it back in august, there was no mention of heat, the heat only became known, when they opened the "build it" section of the website, it still doesn't mention heat on the main cobalt web page... i don't see y the different color would make a difference, as all the seats have the same perforated center section... maybe its only the special recaro seats that don't get heat? its odd how all the cars the press have tested so far have this "performance package" with the recaros and LSD, yet no one at chevy knows anything about this option...

The heated seat cushions are an option on the Cobalt LS Coupe/Sedan and standard on the Cobalt LT Sedan.

According to DBC and VOMS the SS/SC does NOT have heated seats. The LT DOES. That was from Jeff in the Marketing Support Group.

General time constraints on the SS/SC are also greater than 4 weeks as of tonight. Basically what that means is that dealerships are not going to be able to place specific orders, other than pre-orders, within 4 weeks, and a typical 4-6 week build/ship timeframe afterwards puts the arrival past Febrary into late March.

If you go to edmunds.com and look at the pics they have of the SS, you can see heated seat buttons AND a center console armrest(topic of another thread). Whether or not they will actually be produced is still a mystery as are a few things with this car...guess we just won't know till they hit the showrooms.

No heated seats in the Cobalt SS Supercharged

If you go to the 9th picture on Page 2 of the thread "Detroit Auto Show COBALT SS," you'll see that there are NO buttons for heated seats. Looks as if only the Cobalt LT Sedan gets this option.

Im going to assume that their ARE heated seats on the SS S/C. I only believe that it will be an option when you DONT go with the performance package, I would doubt the recaros would hold the option, but the regular seats should.

About heated seats, the brochure says that the LS COUPE/LS SEDAN Heated Seats Are Optional and requires the seven speaker premium sound system. The LT SEDAN it is standard.

This is straight from the brochure.

I agree with Evenstar...they will probably have heated seats with the stock seats, and not with the recaros. If you browse the photos mentioned by Rally Yellow SC you will notice the car they took pics of has no buttons but does have the recaros, whereas the pics on edmunds.com has the heater buttons and the stock seats.

Here's the e-mail I got back from Chevy about heated seats.

"Dear Mr. Comparet,

Thank you for contacting Chevrolet and congratulations on your order of the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged! According to our information, heated seats are not available for the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged. Leather Seats are appointed buckets with color-keyed perforated inserts, include manual recliners, driver-side manual lumbar adjuster, adjustable head restraints, passenger side seatback map pocket and 60/40 split-bench rear with trunk pass-through. We apologize for any inconvenience. It is not unusual for discrepancies to occur between information on the web site with new models because of late changes before production begins.

The 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged has many features that are standard, including Instrumentation that includes speedometer, fuel gauge, tachometer and Driver Information Center with outside temperature, warning messages and programmable menu features. To obtain more information regarding the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged, please visit www.chevrolet.com or contact your preferred dealership.

You may also visit www.gmbuypower.com to search dealership inventory, build your own vehicle, or view vehicle options.

We hope that this information answers your question. If you need additional information or have further questions, please let us know via email or by calling Chevrolet at 1-800-950-2438, between 8:00 AM-11:00 PM Eastern Time, seven days a week. Again, thank you for contacting Chevrolet!

Sincerely,

Ann McManamee
Customer Relationship Manager

Ok, just to add more confusion. I checked in the official brochure of the cobalt and it says the leather heated seats are standard in the LT sedan and SS coupe. If you look on page 22, there is a picture of both the normal leather seat and the SS seat with the coloured insert. The two seats are the exact same minus colour. I would figure there is heating in that seat unless GM specifically took the heaters out of the already assembly seat which makes no sense to me.

But who knows?

You guys need to get your models straight.

The Leather Heated Seats are standard on the LT and SS. The SS will not be available as an 05 model, it has the 2.4L engine and is neither intercooled nor supercharged. The SS will be available as a Coupe and a Sedan.

The SS/SC (2.0L intercooled and supercharged) does not have heated seats, instead it has the leather Recaro seats with the color coded perforated inserts, and will be available very very shortly. It is only available as a Coupe with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The SS S/C doesn't have recaro seats unless you order the performance package. I have no clue about the heated seats but the normal SS S/C seats are leather non recaro.

The standard seats in the SS supercharged are not Recaro seats. They are the exact same seats as the LT sedan with colour inserts in the leather.

The Recaro seats are part of a performance packeage available with the LSD, and feature no clour inserts. It comes out soon.

As a salesman at a dealership, I only have four options in interior trim on the SS/SC
193 - Ebony Lether, Red Inserts
194 - Ebony Leather
195 - Ebony Leather, Blue Inserts
196 - Ebony Leather, Yellow Inserts

Every SS/SCC must have at least one of those seat trims, regardless of whether it has the G85 Performance Package.

The LT Sedan has only one option for seats
522 - Neutral Leather Trim

That's the only way they come. That being said, an SS/SC does not have the seat option of coming equipped like the LT. Period.
