Hello From the UK

Hi, I am new you this forum and I would like to introduce my myself. I'm Dan and I am from England.

I do not own a Cobalt, but I own a Vauxhall VX220 (like a Lotus Elise). So you are probably asking why I have come to your forum, well it is because my VX220 runs a 2.2 GM Ecotec engine and I would like to supercharge it. The thing is to do this I require some parts from a Cobalt SS and so was hoping for some help from yourselves.

I will list this is the parts wanted section, but the parts a require are:

Cobalt SS LSJ M62 Supercharger
Cobalt SS LSJ Inlet Manifold with support bracket
Cobalt SS 2.0 LSJ SC Throttle Body
Also a new supercharger to inlet manifold gasket

Thank you in advance for any help

Dan

Oh, I know my car is nothing like the cobalt but here is a couple of photos:

Looks like a Saturn Sky or Pontiac Solstice.

You should try something crazy like doing a Sky redline engine swap to an LNF :p.
All the parts you are looking for are available here in the For sale thread.

yup, They made a top end version called the Sky Redline which came with a 2.0 turbo Direct injected motor making 260hp 260trq. We cobalt folk have that same motor in our newer cobalt SS's and its a great engine. Alot of us are over 300+hp with just a tune

I dont know how easy it would be to swap motors and ECU and harnesses and what not but it would definately make you one of a kind over there

Putting that in the VX220 would definately be interesting. We have a few people on our forum that like doing transplant projects (someone is putting a V10 lump in one at the moment), I will suggest this and see what the response is like, probably would have to dump the ECU and go for a standalone one

I would go with a Saab turbo instead of the supercharger .
Then your talking a lot less stuff and the same gains.

It's just an Opel GT. GM likes to bring the US cars from its global production from time to time. The Holden Commodore was our Pontiac GTO and the Opel Insignia is our Buick Regal
