Canada Help!

So now that its -36 i finally found out that my new 07 SS/SC doesnt come with a block heater... They say its $99 for the heaer and $97 for the cord plus install. is there any other block heater that will fit?

What about pt#12499853 60.00 fits the 05 but my parts guy says its not listed for the 07?

please help i dont want to spend 200 plus install theres gotta be an alternative...

I'm amazed...

I thought there was some sort of law that all cars sold in canada had to come with a block heater??

Nope, mine doesn't have it either. It's sort of a security feature (on mine) so no one drives it in the winter.
Although that price sounds high. Mainline in Watrous SK (where i purchased from) wanted to install one on mine pre-delivery for $60.

nope its not a law. solstices dont come with block heaters, and u cant but them for it either.

granted not many ppl drive them in this type of weather.
