Talking Hey, it's been a while!

Sorry I've been so scarce around here, but things have been crazy here at the plant for me! This weekend our schedule (the assembly plant is running right now, 2nd shift saturday) is 40% coupes. So, good news for those of you waiting for your SS S/C's! Our schedule at assembly (I work at fab in the press room) is 432 units per shift right now. We're not quite there, but things are improving so quickly it's just about making our heads spin.

What I wanted to let you all know is that some of our superintendants are getting SS S/C's to drive right now, and a foreman that runs one of the lines my drivers service got to drive our 2nd shift superintendant's SS last week. He and the general foreman took it out to lunch. This is what he told me.

They had it up to 130 on the highway before they had to back it off because they were coming up on traffic.

They spun wheels in all five gears.

The suspension was so tight all he had to do was think about making a turn.

It was like driving a corvette. This is from the owner of an '81 Vette.

They had hit 80 before they even got off the exit ramp onto the highway.

Sounds like it won't be a disappointment.

Cool, thanks for the info. Glad to hear about the coupes finally being produced - I think a lot of people around here are waiting on those, especially the SS S/C

From the description that the Foreman gave you, the SS S/C sounds awesome. Hard to believe that they could spin the tires through all the gears though - 1st ,2nd, and 3rd definitely, maybe 4th if you powershifted, but 5th is pushing it. However, if the roads were wet, than perhaps it is possible, especially since the axle ratio is 4.05

Thanks again for the updates, keep em coming, its always great to hear whats going on at the plant

Thanx for the update. Good to know they are finally ramping up SS S/C production. I know a lot of us have been waiting for almost 6 months now.
