HIDs in Halo Projectors?

I just put my HIDs in last weekend. I read that I was supposed to grind a slot on the bottom of the housing to make room for the return lead. On my projectors, there was a slot to the right or left that looks perfect for the return lead. Does anyone else have this? Does it make a difference which way the return lead rests?

One of my bulbs is purple and the other one is white. Hopefully VisionBulbs sorts that out for me.

Also on my left headlight (driverside), there are two plugs and i cant figure out one of them. I know ones for the headlight but wats the other one for?

you have your bulbs twisted to hell in there.

do you think everyone would be going to the trouble of grinding their headlights if there was a slot there that works? lol

get em out before you damage the return lead, and grind a slot for em.

I only did one to see how it would turn out but i forgot which one i did They arent twisted tho cuz for me theres a long gap that they fit perfectly in to. Do ur projectors have that? Maybe mine were made different. Im gonna mess around wit em on tuesday and il get more pics.

the gap is made for the return, and is totally safe to use. the return is just on the wrong side of the bulb, which is why you can see the shadow it makes on the road, so people make a second return on the correct side

it may also be possible that the old projectors didnt have a return

I dont get y they would make the return lead gap on the wrong side. Can it be there for any other reason?

the gap is made for the return?

do you have a picture of it?
because unless they started putting a gap on the top or the bottom, that gap is not for the return lead.
the gaps on the side are for the little nubs on the bulb base that stop it from rotating.
your bulb should have the return lead directly above or below the bulb.
not to the side.

you have to drill a slot at the bottom of the projector so the lead has room to fit. not to the side's or top, return lead HAS TO BE FACING DOWN

Nope. Its coming from the same wire that the main headlight plug comes from. No one else has this? Everything in my car seems to be workin.

Are u supposed to actually use a drill. I tried to but it jus slides all over the place. Instead i jus used scissors but that takes forever and im not finished. Is there a better way to do this?

use a demel, or go to the hardware store and buy a round file slightly larger than the return lead.

note: MAKE SURE all your filings come OUT, not into the projector.

speaking from experience, pay special attention to it. it sucks if you let any get in there
