Hit & Run

Well Folks, 1 Teen Girl Hit & Run on Dec 21 at night. She was visiting my neighbors and I am guessing they were having a party. I got home like 11:30 at night from work, then that teen girl was driving her mom's gold big ass old car. What's weird is that somebody parked on the curbside and she parked next to it right in the middle of the street. She left like 12:00-12:30 and I saw she was really too close to my car. I didn't realized she hit my car cause it was dark and pouring rain. Next morning I checked my car then I found she hit back of my car where the license plate is. It's pretty bad, I was built with huge **** off feelings. So, I called the cop and cop came. He didn't take a look at my car but only wrote 4 paper report and that was it. I decided go to my neighbors and talked with them. I showed them that back of my car was hit, then they knew who it was. They told me will let me know and I said ok. Next day they didn't come but I did came knocking their door. I talked with my neighbors and they said they had talked with that teen girl and her mom. Teen girl said she didn't do it and her mom said I don't see any damage on her PIECE OF **** RUSTY CAR! Back of my head saying BULLSHIT! Then my neighbors said did you by any chance see her hit your car ? Cause she said she didn't do it. I said Yes she did hit my car. Then my neighbors gave me her name and phone # that was it. I walked back home and called the cop again. They told me that I have to call hit & run dept which they are closed till Jan 6. Then I decided go to my insurance and report hit & run accident. I gave them that teen girl name and phone #. They told me they will try go after that girl but no proof. What the hell am I suppose to do!?

It'll pretty much come down to paint match if any transferred as well as corresponding marks on the other car. I don't see how they can deny it if it's bad and theirs paint from the other car on either of the cars involved. I know you just got the car too which sucks

How bad is it? Have a pic of the damage?

I really don't know what they can do with their car. They can just swipe off my paint off of their car cause the paint is pretty much frozen. For My Car their paint is still on back of the bumper. It's really frustrating cause everybody is out during the holiday. I do have the picture back of my car where license plate are. I would post it up but I don't want anybody see my license plate. Right now it's freezing out there.

Okay I understand, I've posted mine quite a few times, I don't really know what can be taken from just that though. I mean you see the plate on others cars all the time and you could write it down with the vin if you really wanted.

You can get a rear bumper for $175 at the LKQ local to me, then have it painted for ~400 at the most. Even if you bought a new bumper I couldn't see it being over $500 new. But I see why you should be mad when you shouldn't have to pay anything.

Why the hell would you have to replace that bumper. Tell your bodyshop to DA that **** down with 220, do whatever bondo repair they have to do ( looks like it doesn't even need it ) , then primer and wetsand then spray it. Replace a perfectly good bumper cover, that's just stupid.

That was my first thought too but I figured I'd say that the price even for a new one was high.

If you can't prove she hit it and she's say's she didn't hit there's nothing you can do about it.

I will try go to different body shop. I went to Chevy Stealership and they quoted me estimate at $1,200. I have paperwork in my car, I was saying to myself well that's just ******* crazy!

Sorry to hear your car got hit. That bumper looks like its mostly paint damage, some bondo work and the correct GM paints could more than likely make it look brand new

Don't go to a dealership for an estimate on body work.

I feel your pain. I was backing up into a parking spot when this car hit my driver door and I called the cops and he said it was my fault because I was suppose to yield when backing up. But yeah usually when you call the cops they don't do **** which makes you even more mad
