Honda-Tech thread about SS/SC

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2114676

The thread was started by my best friend and the ss/sc he was talking about was mine.

I was surprised to see how nice they were towards our cars. If that was posted on this site but the lude won there would be a lot of hate hahahah

They don't seem that friendly. About the same ratio as we have. Trashing the car and the tranny.

yea, I go on h-t quite often seeing as I've had multiple hondas before my cobalt......for the most part they are pretty grown up over there. But like everyother forum you have the few jerks, but I like it there.

Maybe cause it's actual Tech site and not some random forum about guys who own a specific car.

Just a thought.

I have respects for hondas cause alot of my friends have some pretty quick little hatches and are pushing preety decent 1/4 mile times and 1/8 times as well. Just sometimes alot of the members on here go on rice hating sprees and bash everyone of them.

yeah, Pretty much all my friends own honda's

My best friend has a H-22 prelude, a fully built boosted D series motor (415hp btw...yeah single cam....)

My other friends has a boosted Integra LS that he wrecked and completely repaired himself. It is quick as ***** by the way. He kept up with me through first and all of second.

I also know a guy with a 900HP 91 hatch. B series. All I can say is sleeves.....

Honda's are no joke if you do it right. They are inexpensive and light and last FOREVER!!!!

Now, the 4 foot wing on your moms stock accord is the definition of rice. And those are the honda's i hate

They can be fast when they are gutted, even with street trim they are pretty light. if they weighed anything like we do they would just be another car on the road. I've seen some 1800lb hondas before. Nothing in them except a milk crate and only the basics to drive it. Friend of mine from way back ripped all the trim out and built it for racing only. Took the radio, HVAC controls everything that would add weight or take power away. Ditched the A/C Compressor and everything.

Ended up getting a low 12 sec 1/4 on a b16 turbo with all the bolt ons and peformance goodies. He didn't dare take it to 9k but the motor was built to handle the full rev range. Good HP #'s but like 189 lb tq w/300HP Final trim weight was somewhere around 2,000 to 2,200 lbs.

If your looking for torque don't buy a honda.

I think it would be great if there was a site that would test people's knowledge of cars and what their capabilities . Kinda like an acceptance test , fail = no posting privileges . It would really sort out the bullshitter's and car hater's (foreign or domestic) .

I may be biased about the car cause I own one and not bashing them because they were allot better behaved over your "typical" honda kids. But what is the problem that most people even Cobalt owners have with the interior of this car? I have owned tons of different cars and I really love the inside of this car. Sure it shakes and rattles but that is my fault for adding all the mounts and stuff. That would happen no matter what car you own, it just comes with modding. As far as price well hell how many different cars are as nice as this one for the price. My car was under $24,000 out the door after taxes and all. As far as the trans goes I really don't know, mine is still fine. I just have to baby the clutch after running hard for to long but then I fine after that. And would be after several sessions of auto cross or drags over a period of weeks or months. Sure I want an evo or sti but those are in a different class but would never in 100 years trade it for a honda. All in all this is my opinion so take it how you see. Every ones is different. This is in no way a honda bash, because I know they can be nice and fast in the right hands. New for new I would pick the cobalt all day and thats what I did.

Maybe there should be a section like that here. Kinda like the dungeon but you have to take a test to get in, and you are banned for life if you start a ***** thread.

O and take away all of these little smiles and crap. I hate them but for some reason I cant stop using them. Cars and little animated smiley's just should go together! See dammit I just cant help myself.

I think that's a pretty fair assessment. Chances are being a tech site it's a slightly older mature crowd then your typical forum so they can respect other cars as well as there own.
