I think it makes people sound stupid when they say "Take off your s/c and race one!" The rsx-s is rated at 210 hp, and the cobalt ss s/c is RATED at 205 hp. It has less horsepower (going off ratings), why would we take off the s/c. Its a factory s/c motor, and the rsx is a na motor. You can compare the two eqaully, they just used different techniques to make power.

at firebird raceway i got to race a new si and won by 1.8 secs.

my brother has an SI....they are VERY nice cars. I however love my Cobalt much more. The SI's are rated at 197, however, actual stock Dynojets prove they are about 180 whp. SS/SC is rated at 205. Most stock Dynojets are around 210-220. That is a huge difference. I guess that's what helped make up my mind when deciding which one to get.

RSX-Ss are rated at 204 not 210

Where are you getting your info? RSX-S is rated at 210 hp @ 7800 rpm.

Read this

"The Type-S's 2.0-liter i-VTEC-fortified four gains a welcome 10 bhp (up to 210 bhp at 7800 rpm)"

Alot of civic owners I run with are pissed with honda, they are having nothing but problems. These friends of mine always had hondas now they feel the quality has really slipped,I tell them they should not buy a car based on some old guy who took it for a spin and rated it good in some mag. I take them out in my car and they feel the performance and I tell them the price and it just fustrates them, and I don't get a kick out of this by any means, because we have all made poor purchasing choices

Welcome to the year 2006 not "September 2005". Go to Acura.com they are actually rated at 201hp, not 204(I meant 4 more then the SIs that are rated at 197) and definently not 210.

So the RSX is rated at 201. Civic SI is rated at 197. Cobalt is rated at 205.

you are both wrong. it's rated at 201hp due to the new SAE ratings honda adopted. 05 models didn't use the new SAE ratings that is why they say 210hp but the 06's use the new SAE ratings so they are at 201hp. nothing changed from the two years just the testing.

Anyway, all this stuff aside....I love my 11 sec. Supercharged Mustang GT....just my two cents.
Oh and I love my Cobalt SS even though it doesn't beat every other car in every way possible.....and no I 'm not a big fan of Hondas but I don't run around saying I HATE THEM or anything like that. I have a friend who has one. And he's done lots of stuff to it. And no it's not slow. In fact it doesn't have the sotck motor. It has a K24 in it with a Greddy trubo. And yes it beats my Cobalt, but not for long after I get my Intense Stage 5 in. And of course my GT kills his RSX....but that's just not fair>>>>LOL!!

Either he didn't do enough or he did something wrong. His RSX should be running low 12s all day and with some well spent money 11s can easily be had by a boosted K24. So your Intense Stage 5 shouldn't come close to his RSX.

Want your RPM gauge to go into outter space and have the horsepower too by the time it gets there? buy a Honda/Acura (Warp Speed Captain)

Want to rip thru gears quickly at almost 3,000 rpm less and achieve the same horsepower ratings? Buy a SS/SC (Were done in this gear already?)

Fruitless discussions. We are comparing Apples to Oranges. These cars are all awesome. Stupid discussion.

OK...those aren't the only things I'm gonna do to beat his RSX, but I will....he's only got 280 whp and no lsd.....so it wont take too much to beat him. And notice you you obviously said nothing about the GT. LOL! Won't some close to my Mustang...and don't give me that V8 excuse, and power to weight ratio crap. Like I said HIS RSX isn't slow but it's not by any means mind blowing. So maybe he did tune it wrong...I dunno...but one things for sure my stang is a daily driver and my cobalt will be also....but his already isn't with the 1000cc injsectors he had on there.

AND NO HE DOESN"T RUN 12's....more in the mid 13 range. I know I went with him to the track.
Oh and I dunno why he would be improperly tuned he's tuned w/Hondata K-PRO.

i know k20a2's w/ a greddy turbo kit that has 320whp. did he even tune the k24? his engine has way too much potential to just have 280whp. dude, nobody said anything about your stang, cuz obviously we didn't care.

w3rD!

Your friend's RSX should easily be able to run with your Mustang.

yeah, but just because he tuned with hondata kpro doesn't guarantee that he tuned it right. it takes hours if not days to tune it to perfection. yes, it's expensive but well worth it.
