Hopefully Im buying an Evo VIII
Found a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII in apex silver forsale. Already has Injen cai, Injen charge piping, HKS turbo timer, Boost gauge and a Seibon Carbon Fiber hood and everything else stock, also has tarmac, gravel and snow ACD control, Cloth recaro seats. Drives very very nice. Love the sound of the Blow off valve. Thinking on trading in the old but young Cobalt SS SC for it.

Hey thanks Permafried for posting the pics for me. They are also putting four new tires, brakes and rotors on her. They are holding if for me and checking on a price for my trade. Hope to have good news soon.

Np, and the car looks good . When I see one around here it's almost like seeing a Ferrari because they weren't sold in Canada (same as the IX) but a few people imported them and there's at least one I see from time to time on the way to or from work.

If you're looking for input from someone who's ran them for a good period of time now, send a PM to CudeJoe and search for his posts in the brake threads for the TC. He's had them on his TC for over a month now I believe and the last he posted they were doing well and he couldn't be happier with them. Once I have them on and have a week or two of driving on them I'll be posting my thoughts as well .
My friend is on his second pair (slotted/dimpled) on his SS/SC and the first went for some 80,000km or so on the fronts (with the Hawk HPS pads) and he loves 'em. Installed his second set this weekend and said they're just as good as the first pair.

I jumped the gun a bit on my signature . I was supposed to be installing them last weekend but my tires came in early and I had a bit of a drive so I won't be getting to it until this Sunday.

The miles are average. It has 57,000 miles on it and a clean carfax. The car has another 5 years or up to 100,000 mile warranty from factory on power train and up to 60,000 miles bumper to bumper left, 7 yrs 100,000 for rust protection.

Sounds like a good deal man. Evo's are EXCELLENT cars. I had an 03 evo 8 as my daily and LOVED every minute of it.
Anyway, just some advice before you buy it. Check everything over, and drive the crap out of it and check for noises/bumps/etc.
Chances are, the clutch wasn't replaced and it is about to go. To test this out, get on the highway and put it 5th (low RPM) and floor it. If the tach jumps up and then settles down, your clutch is starting to slip and will need to be replaced.
The ACD (Active Center Differential) needs to be serviced often! If you buy this car, take it to a mitsu dealer IMMEDIATELY for an ACD service. While it's there, have them give the car a once over.
If you purchase it, change the fluids in the xfer case, transmission, and rear diff immediately. You're right around the mileage for this service. Bad fluid or lack of fluid can case any of these to seize up and give you quite a bad day. Might as well do an oil change while you're at it.
Other than that, keep an eye out for things that don't look right or unusual noises. There's a good chance your shocks will be soft due to mileage and the guy probably drove it pretty hard. I think you said it had a CAI. This may give you some low RPM/idle issues, so keep an eye out.
Otherwise, car looks great man. I'm trying to trade my SS/TC for an evo 8 too, but they are tough to find in condition like this. Best of luck!
