I am tired of seeing it. it drives me nuts, and if anyone knows how to get rid of it i would really appreciate it.

Isn't the shiftlight only light at over 7500rpm? I hope you've built your engine accordingly...

 

no, it typically comes on at 2500-3000 rpms, depending on how you drive
the SS's don't have them

Well does anyone think that if i took it to a dealer that they would at least change when it comes on? because i would like it to light up right before i red line.

 

It should also come on before you redline....

 

but they thing i am attempting to get rid of is when it comes on between 2500 to 3000.

 

Well thats when your supossed to shift when your not racing..when your WOT it doesnt come on a 2500 it wont come on till redline. Atleast mine does.

 

I'm not sure, but maybe something like HP Tuners could conquer this, but since you have a 2.2... I'm not sure..

 

its for gas milage purposes.but also comes on wot at 6000rpm...you dont like it put a peice of electrical tape over it

 

I Usually beat my light to the shift anyway. It only gets annoying when I downshift for a hill, and halfway up the hill it wants me to shift. Other than that it's a pretty smart light. If you downshift, it wont really come on until you get off the throttle, or sit in that gear. Or if you floor it, it goes off. The redline feature is nice too. I didn't like it at first, but it's ok. Like I said, I shift way before it even thinks about coming on.

 

I don't even know it's there most of the time.
