bought my car with 300 miles on it in march of 09' and now have 49,000 on it now. only problem ive had is pass detection sensor go bad at about 25k. other than that its ran great just changed the trans fluid and brake fluid shifts silky smooth and now the clutch moves much free'er.

these cars are like cavaliers, their ECONOMY cars, so they can pretty much run 150-200k miles IF you treat 'em right, IMO. And from all the searching i've done, noone gets problems with these cars, unless they are always beating the pistons out of them or modifying too much for it to handle.

06, 36666 miles (i know, its EVIL!!! EVILLL!!!!!) nd i bought it 2 months ago and put on about 3k! Love it to death, no problems yet, just minor, usual B.S. The flex pipe (before the catalytic conv.) went out last month, but under warranty so i didn't pay 900 to fix it just mile after beautiful mile...

Almost 21k miles so just broke that under 20k bracket. No serious problems... Stupid plastic shifter linkage. And a MAP sensor that needed cleaning. Brakes on the LNF are known for being **** stock

as far as i have seen. for econ cars these are pretty good performance and reliability wise. just a quick question. any way to "tighten up" if you will. the shifter. mine seems to have more slack in movement than other cars i've driven

I've learned with these vehicles, (i'm on my second) that if you treat them right, don't over boost them, don't drive it like you abused it, they can last a long time and run reliably. If you have a smaller than 2.9 inch pulley, fully bolted and tuned or an LNF with more than GM stage one then reliability may be called into question. Obviously, in general, if a person knows how to maintain their vehicle and operate a manual gearbox properly, even at much higher than stock power, these cars can still be reliable. Many members on here run above stock setups that have lasted 10's of thousands of miles and multiple years.

I plan on keeping (knock on wood) my SSTC for years and years to come. Previously had an SS/SC. If you're bored with your cobalt or want to experience a different type of vehicle or driving environment, go for it! Honestly, I still ask myself from time to time if I should have bought a used C6 Corvette or a 1st generation Cadillac CTS-V (LS6/6MT) and sometimes I long for that V8 rumble. Yet on a day to day basis during Michigan spring/summer/fall, I very much enjoy this sport compact, love the fuel economy, easy to see out of, ergonomical layout, 5 seat ability and the fact that it's the first "new" car I've ever bought. Being the underdog and people thinking your car is slow is at times annoying but to me it's totally worth it for those moments when you pull (from a roll) on an SRT8 Challenger, Audi S4, and various other V8 powered vehicles and luxury sport sedans.

Best of luck with your future automobile decisions, cheers

I believe i posted in this thread before but I can't remember what I've voted... Anyhoo, my '06 has 112k miles and runs like a champ. It's still smooth. No real complaints... At 112k miles u have to do usual maintenance when ur lowered especially like shocks/struts n springs n such. But other than that, we're good on this end.
