Just wondering if it would be necessary to use the hydro sheild on the Cobalt SS/SC.
Also how many dont use it and dont have any problems in a down pour.

I use it. Cheap for a little extra water protection.

Alot of people use hydroshields, for the money they cost , it's a cheap way to save yourself from having to buy a maf or worse.

We would guess more than half do have one on their intake, it is a fairly inexpensive mod that helps prevent damage.

Nope! Just don't drive into deep water. Under 6-8 inches should not cause a problem.

Injen and some other CAI actually are mounted so that they're infront of the front fascia. The Gmpp is mounted in the area of the stock airbox. The bottom feed CAI's are closer to the ground so if you were to go through a puddle deep enough(Don't know why would you'd be driving anyway in such conditions) water would get into the intake and possible hydro lock the engine.
