How much do you pay for a oil change???
I have a 2007 LSJ that I got 2 weeks ago, I went to wal-mart to get my oil changed and they said they could not do it. I asked why, they said because the oil filter is under the supercharger and they wont touch it. So that suck's... So I called my Chevy dealer ask them how much they did it for? The guy tells me $66 bucks, its $10 bucks more than wal-mart. So I went for it they got done about an hour later got my bill and it was $90.04!!!
$66.00 oil change, $16.00 labor, and $8.04 TAX. So my question is, Is that normal? or did I get screwed? I know taking it to the dealer would be more but that's a little much, and the reason I don't do it myself is I live in a apartment complex in Arizona, Its hot and I dont have the room in my parking spot.

whats thats insane, mobil 1 5-30 synthetic is $22 for 5qt plus 4.74 for the extra qt, and then on Amazon.com K&N oil filter is 5.97. takes me 30 minutes tops. All i use the 1-1/2 or1/4 socket and two small ramps to lift the card, with an oil pan and set. if you cant do it its ok, i would look around for other shops for sure though.

take the time and do it yourself man. cost me whatever the oil plus filter costs and about 20 minutes of my time. its cake.
as long as you have a parking spot that you park your car in you cant do it. the car over the ground should be enough shade to keep the ground cool, go in on a creeper youll be fine.

what do you guys do with the oil tho
im perfectly capable of changing it myself but i have no way to dispose of the oil
and to the op just buy the oil and filter on your own. 30$ or so for 6qts and 5 or so for the filter then you just take it to the dealer and tell them to use the stuff you brought then you only gotta pay labor which is like 15$

I pay about $45 for oil and $6 for a filter, then I brought it to the dealer after because I needed an alignment with my new springs anyways, and they charged me $25 to drop and fill the oil with my mobil 1 and replace the filter. GAYYYY
Break it down: $45+$6+$25= Over $80 with taxes
$45+$6+minimal hassel doing it urself=priceless lol
Just pour the old oil from the pan into the oil cans and there ya go
