Its not very accurate. I tried it for a Z06 corvette, 3132 lbs, with 505 hp. It shows 11.27. The best best best drivers get like 11.5-11.7. You would need DRs to run 11.2. Then for a decently modded cobalt, 2800 lbs, 260 whp = 12.86!?!?
the balt weights about 2900 + 260whp= 13.014799 ... to that add your weight, also that will be with perfect shifting// plus its just an estimate...
It is fun to use. But wasn't very accurate on my blown 92 mustang. Said I was a 13.5 and I pulled a best of 12.9 on street tires (and first time at the track). Granted my first run was a 13.7 lol. But the program shouldn't include driver retardedness-just car capability. Then again. Maybe the dyno I was on didn't give my car justice. Who knows..the whole thing is a crap shoot. But it is a blast to plug in the numbers. Hmm..Wonder what my 2.4 is capable of? Ok...switching websites now...
Ok.. I see it's a different caculator. I retract my statement

2911 DRY!(cobalt) so figure in the liquids, and driver weight too... then it will be close. with my actual race weight, and hp, it came out within 3 tenths of my real time
Acorrding to this I shoud be running almost a 13.00 flat right now. 254 WHP + 2900lbs = 13.116481673676222
Once I add the rest of the parts I have in my closet I will be running a 12.932425076455242
Does this thing account for traction, or more like the lack of???

Don't figure it at 2900 pounds, probably closer to 3200. Car should be 2991 according to most sources, add at least 150 for driver, thats average weight when figuring a person, and whatever crap you might have in the car, stuff in the glovebox, trunk, whatever. Full tank of gas= 80 pounds, so even that plays a part. At 3200, with my stock dyno# of 217, that sounds about right. Now, with i guess 245-250, thats mid-upper 13s, which I think is ok. 292hp gives me 12's, which is what i'm hoping for. Its a fun thing to play with actually.
I weighed my car last night... at a farmers market where they weight in trucks and semi's and with a full tank of gas and me (210lbs) with 2 12's in the trunk it weighed in at 2998 lbs
i mean this is a accurate scale...
i mean this is a accurate scale...
2998 (the scales you tested on)
-210 (your weight)
2788
-50 (2 encased 12's?)
2738
Now if we subtract 1/2 tank of fuel (most car tests run a 1/2 tank of gas):
1/2 of 13.2 gall. = 6.6 gall
6.6 gall. fuel @ 6lbs./gall. = 40lbs.
2738
-40
2698lbs.
2698lbs.?
I' havn't seen a single test of an SC where it's test weight was less than 2911. There seems to be a 200+lb. discrepancy here. ???
(examples below from road tests)
Motor Trend 2959 lbs.
Car and Driver 2911-2936 lbs. (2 different tests)
Therefore, using our car's realistic 2950lbs., plus my 230lbs., equals 3180lbs. (1/2 tank fuel, no stuff added to/removed from the vehicle, etc.)
So plugging 3180 lbs. into that calculator shows I was making 223hp at the crank on my box stock SC when I raced the car new (I ran 14.87 1/4 mile)
That seems right ...
