hung with an SRT-8 and beat an SRT-4

I Rarely ever get any good races where i live (outskirts of city) but yesterday i hit the jackpot.
I was driving through my town when up ahead i see this car weaving through traffic. so i catch up to find out its a new black SRT-8 Charger. damn sexy car. he has 3 other passanegers (all young teens, maybe 130lbs soking wet each) we end up doing a few pulls from about 40mph untill about 100ish and i was right beside him, he pulled about a half a car at first but then i realed him back in through my 3rd gear. we did this multiple times form varying speeds and i always kept rigth beside him. he alsways had a slight edge and would pull maybe a quarter to a half a car. finaly we got a light and went from a dig. i got a great launch and stayed even with him through 1st, when i shifted into second and the begining of second he put about a car lenght on me and we stayed that distance apart give or take a half a car here or there for the remainder up untill about 100.

Then, i was headed to the bar last night and saw this kid in a a neon SRT-4 (i alwasy see this kid driving through town and have wanted to race hime forever) parked infront of a house. there all outside talking so i aproached him and we started talkign about our cars. we ened up driving out to a long straight back road and lined it up... first race, we went from a 40mph roll and i pulled about a car lenght at first, we stayed even untill i missed 3rd and we shut it down... then we went from a dig. i got a greta launch (i think he spun a bit) and i put about a car lenght on him through first, shifted into second and coninued to pull on him. by third gear i was about 2-3 cars ahead, through 3rd gear he seemed to slowly creep up and closed the gap to just under 2 cars were we stayed even to about 120mph... on the way back down the road we went from a 10mph roll.. i instantly jumped up about half a car, we stayed even through second. and then he pulled a bit though third gear finishing the race dead even with me at about 100.

this was some of the funnest racing ive done, we were sooo close it was a pure drivers race with my cobalt having a slight egde.

from what he told me the SRT had a catback, blow off valve, msd ignition and somethign done to his wastegate. stock intake and everything so im betting it wasnt much faster than stock,, then again i dont know **** about srt-4s, his blowoff was LOUUD if that means anything...

My coabalt has stage 2 with 2.85 pulley, injen intake, ingals, gmpp catback.

i was suprised aswell... makes sense though, he said he ran a 13.1... well, 3 extra passengers is roughly 450lbs,,, thats about another .4-.5 second on his et putting that car right around a 13.6.. in a quartermile race he would proabaly pull a car lenght or more on me with those passengers, which would put my cobalt right around a 13.7... very doable.

does that sound right... would i be safe in assuming my Cobalt is capable of a mid to high 13 second run... thats my goal...

I had a 97 GTP that i put some money into, should have ran low 13s easily,,, well, the first day i EVER go to the track with it (or any car for that matter) the damn thing started ticking on the way there, by the time i got to the track it was sloowwww and only ran a 14.5... on the way home the engine blew and i never rebuilt it... bought my cobalt and am trying to sell the GTP stock.

i would love to pull off a 13 second run, thats always been my goal.. all of my friends have decently modded cars and were all fighting for 13's were all right there with low low 14 second runs but nobady has reached that infmaous 13... i really hope i can on the next track day.
