so i was coming home from work around 1:30 windows down sunroof open, cruisin. all of a sudden i hear a huge bang, i freak out and notice my rear view had a thick liquid on it, some punk kids egged my car, went strait through my windows and hit the back window so hard it went everywhere. so i slam on the brakes and pull a u-turn, i floor it and catch up (5-6 cars behind.) white hummer. i had adrenaline pumping, so i was trying to figure out what to do, i finally got my thoughts strait and called 911 and followed these kids for a good 2-3 minutes while they tried to escape going 80-90mph. well long story short, the cops caught the bastards and were charged with criminal mischief. class c misdemeanor. heres what i just got done cleaning up at 3:00 am

Get the car professionally detailed by the best detailer

Take them to court and get as much money out of them as humanly possible.

 

well the problem with that was the officer asked how much the damages would cost, i said $50 not seeing the full car. so i'm not sure if i can raise the price of the damages because the kids would get bumped up to a class b misdemeanor, and they were already ticketed.

 

well u have picture proof so just be like i didnt realize how bad it was until i got in there to clean it... that sucks man that happened to my car except they hit the part right above my side mirror so theres like tiny chips in the shape of a circle on the paint where it hit on impact then the rest of the spray hit the inside, i did the same followed them and called my uncle who was on duty luckily pulled em over and got them locked up, and it worked out really good for me because they just happen to have a good ammount of weed and pills on em

 

Yupp. Lawyer time. Make the excuse it was dark out, and you couldnt see the full damage. I would atleast talk to a lawyer and see if it's possible to take them to court like mentioned above. Keep us posted!!

You're not an expert per se at adjusting the value of such damages.

Go to a well known detailer shop, don't clean it yet (as much as that sucks) and get a quote. Request that they remove the entire interior, seats, carpet, headliner- everything. That egg is gonna seap into seams and rot, no matter how much you clean it its still going to smell terrible. Any stitching/fabric it touched, will turn black as it rots, your plastic will chalk, your carpet will stink. You will never get it out on your own, and especially by doing a quick wipe-down.

They might as well have ruined your whole interior if you ask me. Sue the **** out of those punks. And when you're done, egg them back. LOL

doesnt really matter what your ticket says. matters that you have a police report and you can say that you didnt know the full extent of the damage because it was late at night and really dark no judge will argue with that, it wont change the outcome of their ticket but they will have to come up with at minimum the cost of your car being detailed. id def take that to small claims court and who knows if confronted with the summons the rents might just come out of pocket to avoid the court costs. worth a shot.

 

People are so worthless. I got egged in my contour once, hit the back window, but noting inside the car. I'd be so pissed to see something like that, I'd probably do something stupid.

i was thinking the same thing, but way to go on making a smart decision and calling the cops. how many kids was it and where you there standing face to face with them when the cops pulled them over.
