I got my Cobalt :)

Everyone said let them know what happened, after this thread..

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/general-cobalt-68/finally-found-myself-cobalt-ss-sc-92761/

So yeah, just thought i'd let everyone know that the dealership really worked great for me, and I couldn't be happier with my new SS/SC

Only thing I can't figure out is the cruise control... :S... I push the cruise button.. hit set... nothing happens. Something i'm leaving out?

Cruise control failure is a pretty common thing in these cars... take it to the dealer and get it warrantied... they will reflash the cruise computer...

thats a common problem, your computer will need to have a code cleared in it.
or someone with an interceptor or codescanner could do it.

i forget what actually causes it, but its something to do with disengaging the cruise with the clutch or something that causes a DTC, and cruise stops working.

lol, mine had that fix about every 1000 miles (sometimes more) if you don't shift enough gears after every press of the clutch it shuts off the cruise....If you drive in stop and go traffic it does it alot. Where you use the clutch to start moving in 1st, then have to stop before you get to 2nd, so you press the clutch in and stop, then repeat...They'll tell you you aren't driving it right but am I supposed to shift through 3 gears when I'm only going 5 mph? (Stupid GM there, and no permanent Fix)

the problem with the cruise control is either your clutch position sensor (travel) is faulty or the common problem is riding the clutch pedal. the travel sensor has to go all the way back up (fully released).

My foot wasnt even on the pedal, so it shouldve worked, but then again it may notve come all the way backup.. who knows.

06 had colored inserts too, and the cruise thing is a number of cycles thing that the computer wants to see in order to run the cruise.

Saw this thread and thought I'd come out of the lurking woodwork to say congrats to a fellow WV resident. I'm just down the road from you in Clarksburg.

I've got an 06 SS/SC just like you. Just got mine back in October, and I love it. I just kind of stumbled across it, got really lucky. It was in great shape and had really low mileage. Since I'm up towards Morgantown a lot, if you ever see a Laser Blue SS/SC that'd probably be me. I think I've seen only about 2-3 other SS/SC's around here, so prepare to turn a few heads.

I have an aftermarket Pioneer head unit in my car. I'll have to double check, but I'm almost positive my cruise control still works just fine.

I'll have to steal my digital camera back from my sister and snap a few after I clean up the car. It's been really cold and snowy lately, so there's a nice lair of filth on it. Where at over in the eastern panhandle are you?
