it sounds like the deal is already done. it was his fault. I'd tell them no.

Double check the paperwork. If it was the actual bill of sale that you signed, they have to finance you at that rate regardless.

I hate dealerships.

My Dad co-signed for mine. We filled out some paperwork, and they came back later and said that we had mixed up the order of signatures and needed us to switch them. The form didn't state primary, secondary on the signature part, so we asked if I would still be the primary, and my Dad the co-signer. The finance person said yes.

A month later all my finance stuff came in the mail. Not only was my Dad the primary and I the co-signer, they also used their own bank instead of my credit union like they said they were going to. I was so pissed, but nothing I could do about it.

It's not the dealership's role to use your Credit Union that is TOTALLY up to you! Also if you can read this you surely could read the Finance papers when you signed, they are marked Co-App & Primary.....trust me.

There just sending you in to more lending company's to see if they can get you bought at another lending company. That in return will KILL your credit score each time they do so.

The carsalesman are IDIOTS. Twice have I went in and my mom asked if they thought she would get financed. She owns her own business so you know how that works when trying to get financed for a car. The carsalesman always said you should have no problem. Twice did we get call backs a week later after waiting saying that she could not get financed. I also love going in and asking about cars only to find out that I know more than the carsalesman does!

Actually they did the same thing to me, I signed as Primary and my grandfather signed as the co-signer and I ended up with the car in his name instead.

And yes, the more times they run your credit score.. it's going to drop. Not to drastically as if you were going to buy a house but the more times they do it, the more it will drop.

The dealership that i was going to use pulled my wife's credit and mine a total of 24 times in 2 days. Now its all over my credit report and we're trying to buy a house too. Yeah, we got screwed.
