SS hands down...RSX is to expensive to mod! We have the cheap power adders.

If you plan on modding, go with the cheaper one depending on whether your buying new or used. If you plan on keeping it stock, you will be happier with the CSS, but a modded RSX can be quite fast and I feel it has a better interior/ride/shift quality.

RSX is yesterday, go with the SS, if performance is your goal, if comfort is your goal then an rsx will do

Although the SS has the very bland lines of chevrolet while the RSX is somewhat current and sharper, but yes SS if performance is the only thing you want.

It depends which is more important to you, going fast or going in style. I'd rather go fast so I bought the Cobalt.

the interior of the RSX definitely nicer, but the SS is definitely faster. either can be made faster of course. even though the SS claims 205hp, it is still much faster than the RSX from my experience.
speed/easy to mod=SS
luxury/quick car=RSX

I don't think I'll be doing much modding because my knowledge of cars really isn't that good. I just want a nice sports car that's fast and fun to drive. Interior and looks are also more important to me over performance.

oooh then I dont know, the RSX is right up your alley, but you should test drive them both before even considering one or the other because that SS might put a smile on your face that will wipe away thoughts of an RSX. Then again the RSX is no slouch, its just no SS.

Not to be a dick, but I'm getting sick of people doing this. What answer do you really expect. My guess is that if you are posting here, you already know what you want.

I like the fact that the SS/SC is unique, you don't see 'em often and definitly gets attention. A RSX Type-S.... not so unique and you see them buzzing around all over the place. SS/SC is faster and IMO looks more awesome.

I must agree...the pure uniqueness of this car alone sets it apart. Especially when my car/rims are clean, i see people driving the other direction turn their heads to look at my car...rsx-s you wont get that really...specially since, at least for me, to really tell the difference between rsx and rsx-s i need to see the badging on the back...I also find the cobalt sharper looking than the rsx.

i'm a previous dc5 owner and loved it. from the sounds of it you are planning to keep it stock and want nice interior. the SS is faster stock but the rsx has a nicer interior. if you are not concerned about performance now i would go w/ the rsx. later on the road if you decide to go for speed, you can always add bolt-ons or go F/I. both vehicles are very stylish on the outside so it's a hard choice. one thing though, the rsx is discontinued now so that's another thing to think about. good luck with your decision. test drive both cars and that should help you decide.

I haven't owned either one, but I've driven both~ so I will be not be biased on my advice:

The RSX Type-S is more of a luxury car with a kick of performance, it'll get you from point A to point B quickly and reliably (it's a Honda). The 6 speed gearbox is very smooth (not a smooth as an S2000), but there has been previous problems with the synchros, and the driving feel is very smooth but quick cornering capabilities.

The Cobalt SS Supercharged is a little less luxurious with a slightly lesser quality material for the interior, but it more than makes up with its cheaper upgrading costs and a kick-in-the-nuts acceleration. The 5 speed transmission is geared a teeny bit wide from 1st to 2nd, but it goes in with a locking feeling and very precisely.

What is your preference??

RSX - little more luxury, good handling, good power.
Cobalt - good luxury, excellent power, good handling.

Generally, it's all about what you like more in terms of looks. But since you're in a Cobalt forum, I'm guessing you like the Cobalt a little more. And the Cobalt is a little cheaper.

hmmm...ive seen/sat in/driven both cars, and i don't really see how the ss s/c w/ g85 has a lesser quality/luxurious interior...they are both very nice. i think people just attach that lable because it is a chevrolet.

i was in the same boat as the thread poster and my pick was the ss hands down after checking both out.

positives of the ss:very quick, great interior, pretty rare, head turner, simple stage kits, and the whine! oh yeah and its a chevrolet...makes people doubt, but then they soon realize.

it is true. a shiny clean SS/SC will get every driver turnin heads. even chicks cheerin as you drive by(happened a few times). not many of them here so people dont really see a lot of em. and about the interior i dunno wtf ppl are talkin about! its extremely comfortable, has lots of cool buttons on the wheel ect.. and to me feels like a luxary car. and i've drove Lincolns before and of course they feel like luxury too, but with the SS/SC you get that same luxary at a more simplified level. just you and road.. and FUN as **** to drive! gotta love the SS/SC
