I hit a goose on the highway
driven down the highway minden my own buisness then a huge bird divebombs into my front bumper and bam it dies and i watch it go flying later to find its a goose so hers some pics

This is why I bought my 2.4 lower grill, or I guess I should say, that's why I bought 3 of them. I've had 2 knocked out and lost on the highway (had a semi in front of me blow a tire and launch it's tread my way, and hit a blue heron, only slightly smaller than a goose). Certainly worth the money since all I have is a small dent on the bottom of the condensor, way cheaper to replace the grill.

from the looks of it... probably a grand or so...
Honestly if it happened to me and I didn't have the lower grille in I would be bitching to my dealer asking them why Chevy made a car with a huge ass opening in the front bumper that exposes the radiator/intercooler... it's just asking for trouble.

Can't really see the bowed radiator, but here is a pic.
Insurance covered all of mine plus even a little more. lol. The estimate was a bit higher than actual, and insurance didn't care. Didn't even have to pay a deductible since it was animal related. I'm not sure on the premium going up... if it did my parents didn't say anything.
Your folks probably didn't say anything... or it isn't time to renew yet. But you can believe that any time you file something on your insurance... your premiums are going to go up. It's always better to pay out of pocket... just take the hit and move on. You'll end up paying more in increased premiums over time than you would to just get it fixed up front.
No Fault accidents like this 1 should not affect your insurance as it is based on a national average! If you drive your car in a ditch or forget to set your E-brake on a hill & the car rollls away & does damage then yes your rates will go up!
I hit a buzzard a few months back & it shattered my windshield, I thought that was alot of damage to be done by a bird, but I guess I should be happy it was just my windshield. I hope you get your insurance to pay!
It depends on your insurance and status. My friend's wife backed into my ss/sc 2 months after I bought it, and even though this was her 3rd at fault accident, my friend said her premium with State Farm still has not changed since before the first. I find it really frustrating that even though I have no accidents, it only took one ticket (69 in a 55) to raise my insurance $40 a month. Kinda sucks that they'll go easier on her since she's a married female with 2 kids while I'm a single guy with none (but much more careful as you can easily tell by comparing our driving records).

lol
