I need definitive answer on rim warrenty

I have a SS/NA, with the 17" Polished rims.

The other day one of the mechanics said I should get steel rims, so I don't damage mine during the winter.

Now, I read on here, the rims are covered under the 3 yr, 60K warrenty, where they will refinish or replace these rims, if they have curb marks, scratches, chips, etc.

If this is true, I won't bother paying extra cash for winter tire's and rims since my P6's are awesome in the winter.

BTW: I get free tires for life from my dealer, so that's another incentive to keep them on all year round.

Warrenty covers factory defaults. you curbing the car is not a factory default.

I've been reading on these forums, people saying that their dealer replaced and/or refinished the rims.
Manufacturer defects ONLY.

Chips and scratches are NOT manufacturer defects and roadsalt is NOT a manufacturer defect, so NO they WILL NOT cover it.

Or put it this way, they're not OBLIGATED to cover it. Some dealers do some dealers don't but they dont' have to, so you could take them in an they're justified in saying "Nope, sorry, road hazard, we dont' cover that."

I didn't want to take chances, so I bought 16 steel wheels. Small price to pay since I want my stock wheels to look perfect long after the warranty is over.

Well I'm biting the bullet. I'm picking up my steel wheels when I go to the dealership today.
I heard they are 5 spoke steel wheels so it's not to bad.

Kinda late to switch over now, so I'll put them on for next winter.

I got the plan for my rims and tire. No matter what if anything is damaged on the tire or rim. The dealer will fix or replace it
