anyways I will inquire about pricing tonight, after 4:30 EST.

so anyone who has good knowledge of or a very educated guess on how much hp gained on catted vs. catless..

would appreciate it too......as i have emissions testing every 2 years here in Ontario
Damn, that sucks that you have emissions testing. Since I have a new car, I don't have to get inspected until 2013. And supposedly the world will end before that so.... Haha

I'm not going to worry about 1-3 hp unless I dyno out @ 298 or 299 lol

I too will be getting a DP fairly soon and not sure which one to get. I want to go catted aswell from what I here there is a smaller chance of throwing a CEL with a catted downpipe.

Options as far as I know options are:

Changing downpipes isn't too hard. Just get a jack. You can do it!

Not too much louder. You'll have some nice gurgles and ****. Definitely sounds awesome. I don't know how the "high flow" cat sounds, though.

Uhh...dude your car is an '09, emissions is every so many years after the car is 5 years old if I remember correctly. I had my '05 LS from May of '05 to February of '09 and never had to run an e-test once. I think AFTER the vehicle is 5 years old then it's every 2 or 3 you have to get it done before renewal.

It's a crock of **** anyways but you'll need the cat to pass it at any reputable shop.

huh
shows how much i know
I was wondering when you were going to chime in
I can get the catless hahn for $100 cheaper or so from TTR.....looks like that will be my choice
even if i have my car in 5 years and it cost 100 to change it back and forth for emissions...you calculation on etest times are correct im good for 7 years @ the same price to buy catted.

sounds like an easy peasy decision now.

thanks bud

If your goal is 300, throw on the catless downpipe, and get a custom tune over the GM Stage tune, guaranteed to be over 300whp.

Just seems like a waste to keep throwing parts at a car to obtain a certain power level when there is a cheaper way of doing it.

Check out other peoples dynos, how many GM stage 1 tuned cars have hit the 300whp mark, and what mods did they have?

Lol, btw you can easily make a tune for the car that limits the low end tq so you don't cause the clutch to slip, and give you the whp in the upper powerband.

Just because Sean wanted all out tq, doesn't mean you have to get it with a tune

It makes sense from giving business to the place that employs you, it's always good to contribute to the place that pays the bills, lol.

I just hope you can obtain your goals, because it just sucks to spend money, and then spend more money later on, wasting the first money that you spent.

When I got my SC I honestly thought that I could throw on an exhaust, GM stage 2 and be happy.

Well look where that got me, lol.

Just be sure you won't want a custom tune later, because if you do the GM stage kit seems like a waste.

the only chance i have is to find an ECU not from work or talk my service manager into warrantying your work.
which most would say sounds insane but you would be surprised the relationship he and I have.
but prob wouldnt happen.....

It would seem that way but we need the sensor's in the stage kit . So it's not as bad as buying stage 2 for an SS/SC and then dropping to a 2.8 , 60's and a tune ......only using the stage kit hub and belt ..... after paying for all that hehe.
